Your New Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic Head of Finance who is a strategic leader to join our well-established finance team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the charity, this will include managing financial systems, processes, and controls, ensuring Quarriers meets its financial obligations, complies with regulations and standards. You will be a play a key part in financial system improvements, addressing any challenges and implementing risk management strategies.

This is a full-time permanent role working 35 hours per week in line with our agile working policy, which blends home-working with office time and service visits.

Using your deep understanding of the political, social and policy environment in which our grant holders operate, you will ensure our funding is aligned with policy and has the greatest impact possible as well as using learning from our grant holders to influence future policy development.
You will already have well established relationships with Scottish Government, other funders and the third sector. You will use this to share learning and insight from our funding, lead consultations and identify opportunities for future collaboration.
You will be part of a policy and practice network across the Fund, working collaboratively with colleagues across the UK to develop One-Fund approaches to our missions.
We’re looking for someone who is values-driven, passionate about the Fund’s purpose and deeply committed to equity, diversity and inclusion. You will have a strong track record of influencing at a senior level and be able to articulate strategic ambitions clearly and effectively. You will also have a nuanced understanding of the role of a non-Departmental Public Body in the policy landscape and experience of working collaboratively across organisational boundaries. As a member of the Scotland Directorate Senior Management team, you will provide inspiring leadership and strategic direction to the wider team.

Leading Alzheimer Scotland’s Fundraising & Engagement Team the key purpose of this role is to lead and embed a multifaceted and sustainable fundraising portfolio, that supports the charities self-funded services (such as, but not limited to; Dementia Resource Centres, 24hr Freephone Dementia Helpline and national dementia advisory service) to deliver Alzheimer Scotland’s mission; to ensure nobody faces dementia alone.

Our specialist staff deliver care and support that improves the lives of young people growing up in Huntington’s families, people with the disease or facing the onset of symptoms, those who are at risk of developing the condition, and carers. They will attend Board meetings with the CEO to report on the progress of work within their remit and contribute to strategic planning/review sessions.
