In this role, you’ll:

  • Support colleagues across Children First to use our systems confidently and effectively, helping them record their work clearly and accurately.
  • Provide first line support for system queries, troubleshooting issues and working with our IT and system partners to resolve them.
  • Maintain and improve guidance, templates and support materials, ensuring they are clear, accessible and up to date.
  • Contribute to testing, implementation and continuous improvement of systems, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Microsoft 365 tools.
  • Use insights from user feedback and data quality checks to help improve how our systems support practice, reporting and learning.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience in a systems support, ICT support or application support role.
  • Confidence supporting colleagues with varying levels of digital confidence, using clear and patient communication.
  • Experience of working with business systems such as case management, CRM or HR systems, ideally including Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • An understanding of data quality, information governance and the importance of accurate recording.

Organisation Profile

Scottish Alcohol Counselling Consortium (SACC) is a small, member-led organisation of councils on alcohol and local, voluntary alcohol and addiction support agencies. Our member organisations all provide alcohol counselling or one to one support as part of their services.

Our aim is to make a meaningful contribution to communities across Scotland by improving counselling and support for individuals and families affected by alcohol and other addictions.

The post is currently hosted by Murray’s Initiative and the successful candidate will be employed by them. Murray’s Initiative (formally known as Glasgow Council on Alcohol) is an independent Scottish charity that works to reduce alcohol and drug-related harm at both individual and community levels. Established in 1965, Murray’s Initiative adopts a long-term, trauma-informed and asset-based approach to changing the culture around substance use. Its services are built on a person-centred, harm-reduction model, supporting people whether their goal is to reduce consumption or achieve abstinence.

Role :

SACC is looking to attract experienced trainers who hold a COSCA Trainer Accreditation to deliver SACC’s bespoke Counselling People Towards Behaviour Change (CPTBC) course. CPTBC is a 30-hour course accredited by COSCA usually delivered over 8 weeks (negotiable).

The delivery is split between 70% in-person delivery and 30% online delivery. SACC would guarantee at least one course delivery per annum; delivery location is dependent based on geographical demand and can be negotiated.

  • Flat fee per course delivery & marking: £2,500

SACC adheres to the COSCA ethical framework for good practice in counselling, psychotherapy and counselling skills. We also ensure that all trainers contracted by SACC are members of COSCA and suitably qualified.

Additionally, this post requires membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme for protected adults. Successful applicants will be required to join the PVG Scheme and have personal liability insurance.

  • To ensure all volunteers are supported and can contribute to service delivery as required.

Around since 1923, SAMH is Scotland’s national mental health charity. Today, we operate over 70 services in communities across Scotland, providing mental health social care support, addictions and employment services, among others. Together with national programme work in See Me, respectme, suicide prevention, and physical activity and sport, these services inform SAMH’s policy and campaign work to influence positive social change.

SAMH is dedicated to mental health and wellbeing for all: with a vision of a society where people are able to live their lives fully, regardless of present or past circumstances.

SAMH hosts ‘United to Prevent Suicide’; which is the social movement aspect of the national suicide prevention strategy, Creating Hope Together. We are a mass participation project open to anyone in Scotland who is passionate about preventing suicide, often due to lived experience of crisis and bereavement.

We support our members to take action in their own lives, their communities, and at a national level. In the past year, United to Prevent Suicide has undertaken a strategy to become a more member-led organisation, with new projects launched and more planned.

The post-holder will work alongside the Social Movement Development Manager to grow the movement, strengthen our participatory practice, and deliver key projects.

What we are looking for:

To be successful in this post you will need experience of working with sensitive subjects and with people who have had difficult life experiences, and be confident developing and sustaining excellent working relationships with volunteers and community members.

This role is ideal for anyone who believes in the power of collective movements to tackle entrenched social problems, and who believes that relationships of trust, solidarity and action can be part of a journey of recovery.

The role will require some travel and evening and weekend working as per the needs of the project.

We are looking to recruit a full-time Behaviour Support Advisor to cover maternity leave for our Central & East Region. You will be part of the Positive Behaviour Support Team and your base will be in one of our regional offices or at home. The Behaviour Support Advisor role is a key support function, providing guidance and support in managing the challenges faced in a complex service environment.

If you have experience of working with a range of people who present with behavioural challenges and have experience of managing services for people with learning disabilities or autism this could be the opportunity for you.

You will spend time in services and with staff teams that are supporting individuals with behavioural challenges and carry out behavioural assessments with the aim of improving quality of life. You will develop comprehensive, person-centred, Behaviour Support Plans and support the skill development of staff and management.

Working closely with the Regional PBS Manager you will plan, implement and evaluate behavioural interventions for individuals who present with behavioural challenges but also work closely with operational staff at all levels.

You will be confident in delivering presentations using a range of formats including PowerPoint, and will help develop learning materials for staff teams, delivering service specific training throughout our services.

You will assist in monitoring and reviewing progress, measuring against original objectives for behavioural input, including producing evaluation reports with graphic data.

There is 1 full time post available (35 hours per week), though your base is in Central/East there is still the requirement to be flexible to travel and work away from your original base across the Centra/East of Scotland, which can include overnight stays when required. Travel and subsistence payments will be made.

Previous experience of working with people with learning disabilities and complex needs, the ability to work as part of a team or on your own initiative, the ability to plan, prioritise and manage your own workload and the ability to work closely with a range of staff are required for this role. This is an excellent opportunity to make a change in your life and in that of the people we support. Our proposal builds on the success of our previous Inverclyde Culture Collective (ICC 2021-2023) to create 18 months of new activity from June 2026 devised from the Inverclyde Arts & Creativity Action Plan (2024-2029). Our overall focus will be an exploration of our “Creative Health” – a strong thread that emerged through previous delivery, leading to the inclusion of a “Creative Health Statement” within the “Inverclyde Health & Social Care Strategic Commissioning Plan” (2024 – 2027). We will also explore themes linked to the Climate Crisis, including climate anxiety.

This project will create paid opportunities for both salaried and freelance Creative Practitioners to engage with communities that have low arts engagement. Inverclyde Culture Collective will provide both emerging and established artists with the opportunity to push the boundaries of their own practice and look for radical solutions to sensitively collaborate and make work with local communities.
