Options Fife Respite and Outreach provides a range of flexible support through outreach and overnight short breaks at weekends, evenings and school holidays to children and young people with complex learning disabilities and autism. We offer a high-quality child centred service providing positive and enabling experiences for the young people, supporting them through the challenges and complexities that enable them to work towards their individual outcomes and personal goals. We work closely with families and other professionals in providing support tailored around the child’s plan.
What we are looking for....
We are looking to recruit a Young People’s Worker to work 25.5 hours per week on a residential rota including evenings and weekends. The role covers outreach and short break services including weekends of 6-hour shifts for outreach service late afternoon/evening Hours are annualised as the service is open 50 weeks per year, and it is expected you will work 25.5 hours per week. You will play a fundamental role in ensuring that the young people you work with have the best possible experience in working towards their objectives in line with their care plan, supporting children to progress within their individual outcomes. Whilst not without its challenges and demands, this is a highly rewarding role, where the work we do has a demonstrable impact on each young person's progress. Using a person-centred approach, you will provide enabling support ensuring the highest level of physical, personal, and emotional care. We support young people who have epilepsy, need personal care and need gastrostomy feeding. Aberlour, in conjunction with NHS, provides all staff with training.
We are looking for candidates who have a passion for working with young people with disabilities. It is desired but not essential that candidates hold a relevant qualification at an SCQF level 7 or above and a current driving licence. Due to SSSC requirements you may be required to gain qualifications after starting with Aberlour.

We are looking for a health and social care professional to join our nationwide network of Huntington’s Disease Specialists who provide care management, specialist assessment and emotional support to individuals and families across Scotland.
Working in partnership with local health and social care teams, you will also provide advice, training and education to professionals and voluntary agencies involved in all aspects of Huntington’s disease care.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and motivated to have a positive influence on the quality of life of the individuals and families they support. This role is open to medical, health and social care staff from backgrounds such as nursing, allied health, social work and medicine. Professional body membership is essential. Previous experience of Huntington’s disease is advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided.
You should be able to work autonomously in this challenging and rewarding position. Good listening, communication and interpersonal skills are vital, as are excellent time keeping and caseload management abilities. As we continue to grow our services to meet increasing demand, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Talking Therapies practitioner to take a strategic and operational lead in delivering psychological support services to adults and young people affected by and bereaved from cancer across Ayrshire.
Reporting to our Director of Care Services, our TTL will be responsible for the leadership, development, and delivery of Ayrshire Cancer Support’s talking therapy services. This includes direct provision of high-level one to one and group psychological support to those affected by cancer, supervision of the counselling team, and service development aligned with best practice, governance, and quality standards.
The position is suitable for one of the following mental health professionals; Either a Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology; or a Nursing or Allied Health Professional with specialist training; or an experienced talking therapist qualified in one or more therapeutic approach (counselling, psychotherapy, CBT, EMDR) whilst holding registration with a relevant regulatory body (e.g., NMC, HCPC, BACP, COSCA). A satisfactory Level 2 PVG will also be an essential requirement for the role.
Whilst third sector experience is desirable, this is not essential. The role will operate over 30 hours per week between Monday and Friday, and we are open to discussing how these hours are worked. The role will involve working flexibly throughout Ayrshire and between our support centres in Kilmarnock and Ayr.

You will therefore also need experience in developing anti-racism and intersectional good practice tools such as race / equality policy templates and good practice guidance materials for shared learning. Role Purpose
Grandmentors is our award-winning, inter-generational mentoring project running in almost 20 locations across the UK. We recruit, train and support Volunteer Mentors (normally people aged 50+) who are matched 1:1 with young people (aged 16-26) facing a range of life challenges and barriers. This includes young people with experience of the care system, or with Adverse Childhood Experiences.
Through our mentoring support, young people are more likely to have improved physical and mental health and wellbeing, achieve better outcomes around Education, Employment or Training, build independent living skills, and generally enhance their life chances.
