Victim Support Scotland (VSS) provides support and information to people affected by crime and campaigns for victim and witness rights. Regardless of whether a crime has been reported, or when it happened, our services are free, confidential, and tailored to individuals’ needs.

What is the role?
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Support Coordinator (Armed Forces). 35hpw 1-Year Fixed-Term contract. Working hours to be agreed between the following days and hours: Monday - Friday between 8am - 8pm & Saturdays 10am - 4pm.
Salary band: £27,598 - £36,445. Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to review - in line with VSS progression arrangements. A higher salary placing will only be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.
Primary location: Kirkcaldy. You will be expected to work throughout Central Scotland & Fife locality.
You will be reporting directly to a Locality Manager, and you will be responsible for ensuring, within your Service(s), that VSS’s local service development and delivery plan is being implemented within your geographical area(s). Service delivery is provided by a team of skilled and knowledgeable volunteers and you will be responsible for planning their deployment to ensure that the service delivered meets the desired outcomes of victims and witnesses of crime and our service users. You will also be responsible for all aspects of volunteer engagement with VSS at your services, including recruitment, induction, learning and development, ongoing performance management and support. Contributing to business planning and co-ordination ensuring that continuous learning takes place to monitor that the outcomes of service users are being met is also part of the role.
You will bring experience from a similar role and a commitment to your own professional development. As a confident and supportive leader, you will know how to motivate others, build trust, and drive performance. You’re comfortable working with data gathering, analysing, and presenting insights that help shape decisions. You believe in fairness and inclusion with the confidence to challenge discrimination, bias, or stereotyping when you see it. Alongside this, you have a solid understanding of the voluntary and charity sector, and willingness to be flexible in working hours and able to travel as required.
You will have a specific focus on supporting people from Armed Forces communities who are affected by domestic abuse. This will include providing tailored, one-to-one support when required, helping individuals to feel safe, heard, informed and empowered, in partnership with Scottish Women’s Aid.
Due to the geography of the area it is essential you have a full clean driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

The Role
Obesity Action Scotland, hosted by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, is seeking a Policy and Public Affairs Manager to support and coordinate the work of the Scottish Obesity Alliance.
Reporting to the Head of Obesity Action Scotland, the Policy and Public Affairs Manager will support the development and delivery of policy and public affairs activity to advance the Alliance’s priorities and influence policy that supports healthier environments across Scotland.

Beith Trust is seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee the management and development of our community-owned estate and facilities.
The role will ensure the effective operation, maintenance and improvement of Geilsland Estate, Main Street properties and Beith Astro, supporting the Trust’s work to provide community activity, enterprise opportunities and accessible facilities.
Working closely with the CEO, the General Manager will oversee estate maintenance, contractor management, health & safety compliance and facilities operations. The role will also involve coordinating maintenance teams, supporting tenants and site users, and delivering estate improvement projects.
Applicants should have at least two years’ experience in a similar estates, facilities or property management role, with strong organisational, communication and leadership skills.

We are looking for a Project Worker, who will work as part of a team seeking to meet the practical, emotional and spiritual needs of women with multiple complex needs. As part of a team you will ensure the smooth daily running of the therapeutic centre and help to create a safe supportive caring and empowering environment for service users.
Your main tasks include leading group work and supporting residents on a one to one basis. You will also provide appropriate emotional and practical support to service users assisting in budgeting, debt management, addiction support, household routines, arranging specific specialist help and liaising with other external agencies.
Experience of working with vulnerable and homeless people, experience of working within a team and the ability to deal appropriately with challenging behaviour are essential for the role.

Community Alliance Trust is a development trust serving Greater Craigmillar. We bring together individuals and organisations to identify need and advocate for positive local change.
We also host and run services from The White House supporting the people of Craigmillar. This includes an open-door policy for those in need, hosting welfare and benefit advisors, as well as directly running community gardening sessions.
We have funding to expand and develop our work this year, including this new role to restore Craigmillar Library Garden.
We are looking for an experienced community gardener to lead our work transforming the neglected grassy area at Craigmillar Library into an edible and sensory community garden. The role will include co-designing the garden layout, engaging with volunteers, and motivating them in gardening sessions at the library.
Gardening sessions will include repairing and building raised beds, prepping the ground for the sensory garden, planting a range of scented, colourful and edible plants suitable for Scotland, supporting volunteers to increase their confidence and gardening skills, and building community.
The project will take place over five months on a part-time basis, with twice-weekly gardening sessions taking place most weeks.
While this project is discrete, we will be looking for a community gardener at our new Niddrie Mill site on a long-term basis. This will be a much larger community garden serving Greater Craigmillar. Please let us know if you are also interested in this permanent position, as we will be hiring for the Niddrie Mill Gardener role from the pool of applicants for the Craigmillar Library Community Gardener.
