Children’s Hearings Scotland (CHS) is undergoing an exciting period of reform designed to deliver a step change in improving the outcomes for infants, children and young people who need us most.

People are at the heart of this period of reform and we are now seeking to appoint a People & Culture Partner to help deliver excellence within Children’s Hearings Scotland and to effect real change across the largest Tribunal in Scotland.

Your role

Working alongside the wider People & Culture team, the People & Culture Partner will lead and champion projects and initiatives to promote a proactive and progressive people culture at CHS.

The role holder will undertake the delivery of a full range of HR/OD services within the

employee lifecycle, championing the delivery and embedding of the People Strategy across

the wider organisation.

The People and Culture Partner will play a central role ‘on the ground’ in driving forward the organisations core People Priorities. You will play a key role in supporting the development and embedding of a cultural framework to guide, support and embed desired practices and behaviours across our team at CHS.

The People and Culture Partner will work alongside the National Wellbeing Manager, supporting the embedding the National Wellbeing framework and strategy.

You will build a close partnering relationship with the Tribunal Delivery Managers across the 9 regions, embedding CHS values, organisational culture and driving forward consistency of application of policies, guidance, process and wider people related activities.

About you

You will ideally have experience of or knowledge of the sector and will bring experience of establishing and maintaining successful relationships with a wide set of internal and external stakeholders.

You will have a good understanding of the challenges and opportunities around future ways of working and how digital transformation affects people, culture and organisational effectiveness.

You will be able to build collaborative relationships quickly and bring people together across the organisation. Above all you will be inspired by the work of CHS in improving the outcomes for infants, children and young people.

Life at CHS

At Children’s Hearings Scotland, our highly trained Panel Members make decisions for Scotland’s unique Children’s Hearings System that upholds and promotes the rights of infants, children and young people. Our 2,500 volunteer Panel Members take part in children’s hearings in their local areas, making decisions with and for infants, children and young people. Our organisation also supports a network of Area Support Teams throughout Scotland who support Panel Members in their local communities.
