About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Fundraising Coordinator to help us secure sustainable funding from grants, trusts, foundations and corporate partnerships.

This role is central to ensuring IYS has the resources needed to deepen our impact, grow our work and strengthen youth-led change across Scotland.

Working collaboratively with internal teams, you will lead applications, manage our funding pipeline, build relationships with funders and support fundraising campaigns, ensuring all activity aligns with IYS’s mission, vision and values.

What You’ll Do

As the Fundraising Coordinator, your key responsibilities will include:

Developing and delivering fundraising strategies that support long-term sustainability.

Identifying and pursuing funding opportunities across Trusts, Foundations, Commissions and Tenders.

Leading the preparation of high-quality, persuasive and values-led funding applications.

Managing the funding pipeline, stewardship activity and reporting deadlines.

Building and sustaining meaningful relationships with funders and partners.

Supporting income forecasting alongside the Finance and Operations Manager.

Researching trends in grant-making, ethical fundraising and racial equity.

Supporting digital and community fundraising campaigns.

Coordinating fundraising events as required.

Working collaboratively with programme teams to gather stories, evidence and outcomes for proposals and reports.

Ensuring fundraising activity strengthens IYS’s mission and builds power with BPoC communities.

About You

We’d love to hear from you if you can demonstrate:

Essential Criteria

• Proven experience in fundraising, particularly grant writing and/or corporate partnerships.
• Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to craft compelling, values-led proposals.
• Ability to build strong and trusting relationships with funders and stakeholders.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines independently.
• Understanding of equity, anti-racism and justice in the context of fundraising.
• Experience using CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge).
• High attention to detail and a proactive working style.
• Passion for youth empowerment and community-led change.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Desirable Criteria

• Knowledge of the Scottish funding landscape.
• Understanding of the social, political and human rights issues affecting BPoC young people.
• Experience supporting fundraising events or digital campaigns.

Background

Edinburgh Old Town Development Trust is a registered charity committed to the revitalisation of the Old Town through stimulating growth in community participation, the arts and enterprise. It supports a vibrant community in the Old Town that is inclusive to all. The organisation operates the Crannie Community Hub; this is a venue for local residents and organisations to come together, create and share activities, events and connections as well as campaigns to improve the area for residents. The Crannie runs a health and wellbeing program, including a walking group, music circle, creative writing, cooking and craft groups. With the help of new funding, we aim to enhance our services by offering weekend access, personalized energy advice, and expanding our warm space to a full 7-day schedule. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Energy Officer to lead this exciting project.

Purpose of the role

EOTDT is seeking an experienced person to be responsible for managing the delivery of critical energy support services to our community members and supporting the Facilities and Operations Manager team in running the Crannie Community Hub.

This includes hosting weekly group advice sessions, offering personalized energy guidance, and providing drop-in support to help individuals reduce their energy costs and improve their efficiency. The Energy Officer will also help ensure our space remains a welcoming and accessible resource for individuals seeking warmth, meals, and community support.

The activity programme will be based at The Crannie Community Hub but will involve working on an outreach basis across the Old Town area as appropriate. The hours worked are flexible, but will be based around when the Community Hub is open (Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm).

Who We Are Looking For

We’re looking for a compassionate and effective leader who can engage, inspire, and support others. You should have experience in adult social care, excellent communication skills, and a creative approach to problem-solving. You’ll bring:

• Experience in adult social care: You should have an SVQ 4 in Health and Social care, or be willing to work towards this, as well as experience leading or supporting teams in social care, with an understanding of the challenges and opportunities this role brings
• Leadership skills: You’re a supportive leader - approachable, adaptable, and able to empower your team, especially during times of change or challenge
• Problem-solving: Strong critical thinking and the ability to find solutions that make a positive impact on the people we support and your team
• Knowledge of the sector: A solid understanding of the Scottish Social Care sector, including regulatory bodies such as the Care Inspectorate and SSSC
