About the Role:

The support we provide is always person-centred, trauma-informed and wellbeing focused. As a Housing First Young Person Worker working with West Dunbartonshire Council as part of our Housing First service, you’ll work in the community to provide a wide range of flexible intensive support to individuals aged 16-25 to encourage independence to maintain and sustain a tenancy and adapt to community life.

Main Responsibilities:

This role working in the West Dunbartonshire area combines settled housing with person-centred, strengths-based and flexible support. This Housing First role is outreach-based, working 35 hours per week on a rota, and will see the Housing First worker providing support to young people in their own tenancies. The Housing First Young People Worker will:

1. Provide intervention and a range of supports for new referrals and existing Supported Young People in their own tenancies.
2. To provide trauma-informed, person-centred, and wellbeing-focused support for young people supported by Blue Triangle.
3. To support, review, monitor and evaluate through our SHARP monitoring tool to achieve a positive person-centered outcome for the people we work with in line with Blue Triangle’s statutory and legislative requirements.
4. To support young people transitioning from supported accommodation into the local community or referred from other sources, helping them on their personal pathway towards a settled tenancy, building their tenancy and life management skills.

Edinburgh Young Carers (EYC) is seeking a suitably experienced and qualified applicant to join and develop our service, providing high quality support to young carers in Edinburgh between the ages of 5 and 25 years, who care for someone affected by alcohol or substance use at home.

Role Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic Active Play Ranger to help deliver a pilot partnership project between Under the Trees and Inspiring Scotland seeking to increase opportunities for outdoor play in schools and community settings.

This is an outdoor based role and requires moderate levels of physical effort. The role can involve lifting and handling of equipment and other resources and to be involved in practical activities in the outdoor environment. The role requires being outdoors in a range of weather conditions, therefore you must be comfortable being out in our Scottish Weather.

We are looking for someone that enjoys being outdoors with an interest in working with a range of different age groups, backgrounds and abilities and who will be an active participant in the delivery of structured and child-led play activities.

You will also develop partnerships with other relevant organisations in order to ensure a good uptake of opportunities offered.

This role will be assisted by a part time Assistant Outdoor Learning Officer with whom you will work to ensure the successful delivery of the project.

You will be delivering activities such as bushcraft, conservation, outdoor cooking and nature-based creativity. Training and guidance on these can be provided for those with experience of working with the target service users, but limited experience of these activities.

This is an office and site-based role and it is unlikely that home-working will be possible as you must be available to volunteers in a face-to-face capacity. It is envisaged that the 32 hours will be worked across a 4 day week.

Counselling Care Skye and Lochalsh provide vital early intervention mental health support across our rural and island communities.
