To plan, develop and monitor new and existing youth and families projects and developments within the Boomerang Community Centre, while engaging with local communities, the voluntary, faith, private and public sector organisations to ensure as an organisation we continue to grow.
To contribute to the achievements of the Boomerang Community Centre and to build on this valuable work in one of the most deprived communities in Dundee.
To undertake engagement and consultation activities, leading to the planning, advertising and in the delivery of new activities for children, young people and families. To carry out regular evaluation of these activities which will be monitored by the Centre Manager and reported through the Board of Trustees.
To ensure the smooth running of all existing children, youth and family groups and activities and to promote the Boomerang Community Centre and activities at external events and via outreach work.
To work with children, youth and family groups and individuals to improve physical and mental wellbeing.
In conjunction with the Centre Manager help to secure funding for the organisation and to complete monitoring and evaluation to existing funders.
To prepare information to assist in the monitoring of grants.
To work with the Volunteer Co-ordinator to recruit and retain volunteers to assist with the successful running of any children, young people or family groups.
The service
The service support people who are homeless with complex and multiple needs. This means that you will be supporting people who have significant trauma, behaviours that challenge us, addictions, mental health, history of non-attendance and not keeping to building rules, mental health and psychological trauma, behaviours that are classed as risk taking and potentially, they are known to the criminal justice services. Relationships and how we interact and respond to people are key, how we reflect on our needs, behaviours and reactions to the work we do are key to being able to deliver the support.
The job
You will be required to carry a case load, write outcome plans and risk assessments and deliver and review the support. Support is provided on a 1-2 basis as well as an ad hoc basis. You will be required to lone work and work as part of a team. You will be expected to respond to emergency situations and take part in the on-call rota. The working hours for the service are Monday- Friday however you may be required to work evening and weekends.
The candidate
You will be expected to work to the national care standards and the SSSC Codes of Practice. You should have a flexible can-do attitude, excellent communication skills, reflective skills and a willingness to work towards an SVQ2 Health and Social Care if you don’t have the required qualifications.
All successful candidates will be required to obtain registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months

Overview
OPFS was founded in 1944 and since then we have been at the forefront of shaping policy and services that support the 144,000 single parent families in Scotland. OPFS HQ is in central Edinburgh, there are local services in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Falkirk, Edinburgh and Dundee with National digital and helpline services.
The Employability Support Worker will be responsible to the Regional Coordinator / Employment Lead and will work as a member of OPFS Employability Service, to provide employability services for single parents in Angus / Dundee to support them to secure employment, education or training.
Please Note: While the initial focus will be on delivering services in Angus, if funding is not secured beyond 31/03/25, the role may require working out of Dundee. We are committed to supporting our staff through any transitions and ensuring continuity of service delivery. The closest OPFS office for this role is located in Dundee, but the majority of the work will take place in the field in Angus (specific focus on Arbroath and Forfar).

JMT Care Services is an independent fostering agency that provides high quality fostering andcontinuing care placements for children and young people through the JMT Fostering and JMT Young Adult Placement services. We are looking for an experienced Social Worker to join our small team. You will be based in our Livingston office, with the option of a workspace in Dundee, covering Dundee, Fife, Perth and Angus.
You will be involved in the recruitment, assessment, training and supervision of foster carers.. As a qualified Social Worker registered with the appropriate body, you will have recent experience of fostering or child care practice, including the recruitment and assessment of potential foster carers. A good knowledge of fostering regulations, child care law and safeguarding issues is essential. You must have excellent communication skills and a commitment to high quality practice.
You will be joining a well-established and experienced team that has high expectations for their level of practice. You will be a good communicator and a skilled and self-motivated professional, with the ability to work flexibly, including travel across the country. As well as managing your caseload and supporting colleagues, you will be part of a duty rota to support the running of the service, both within and outside of normal office hours dealing with crisis and challenges. You will be involved in delivering bespoke training to prospective and existing foster carers.
