Overview

OPFS was founded in 1944 and since then we have been at the forefront of shaping policy and services that support the 144,000 single parent families in Scotland. OPFS HQ is in central Edinburgh, there are local services in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Falkirk, Edinburgh and Dundee with National digital and helpline services.

The Employability Support Worker will be responsible to the Regional Coordinator / Employment Lead and will work as a member of OPFS Employability Service, to provide employability services for single parents in Angus / Dundee to support them to secure employment, education or training.

Please Note: While the initial focus will be on delivering services in Angus, if funding is not secured beyond 31/03/25, the role may require working out of Dundee. We are committed to supporting our staff through any transitions and ensuring continuity of service delivery. The closest OPFS office for this role is located in Dundee, but the majority of the work will take place in the field in Angus (specific focus on Arbroath and Forfar).
