We have an exciting opportunity for a Recovery Coordinator who has the skills and experience to assess and engage with our service users, ensuring that they access the right intervention at the right time, in a way that best meets their needs. With this role you’ll be working as part of the West Lothian Recovery Service.

The team supports people develop their Recovery after reaching a level of stability.

Responsibilities

About the role:

• Supporting service users from point of entry into the service and through their treatment/recovery journey
• Providing screening, assessment, and recovery planning and onward referral
• Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community
• Promoting carer, service user and community involvement
• Providing advocacy for access to partnership services
• Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self-determination
• Research, design and prepare subject matter and materials for groups / pods.
• Deliver structured content within group settings to service users at various stages of recovery
• Engage with debriefing and evaluations with co-facilitators after groups/pods have taken place, reviewing progress and identifying concerns with service users
• Tailor specific workshops around the needs of the service users, such as: anger management, sleep disorders, relationships, etc

About you:

• Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field
• Experience of working with groups/pods and managing group dynamics, such as conflict or challenging behaviour.
• Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good IT skills
• Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills
• Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice
• Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders
• Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users
• Understand the importance of information governance processes and commit to follow and apply all necessary safeguards
• Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills and to contribute and oversee the learning and development of others

Street Connect is a Christian organisation with a mission to offer hope and opportunity of recovery for people disadvantaged by addiction, homelessness, and poor mental health.

As our Fundraising & Marketing Manager you can contribute to profound and lasting changes in the lives of highly vulnerable individuals. In 2022/23 working with our church partners, Street Connect benefitted over 1500 people overall with 135 individuals receiving formal key work support and we supported 19 entries to residential rehabilitation. Our participants report stability and improvements not only in their recovery from drug and alcohol problems, but also in their living skills and situations, social skills, and relationships, and in their physical, mental and spiritual health and wellbeing.

The Fundraising & Marketing Manager is responsible for leading the development and implementation of Street Connect’s income generation strategy in order to raise funds to support the work of Street Connect. They are also responsible for the development and implementation of Street Connect’s communication strategy to ensure the effective branding, marketing, and promotion of Street Connect.

The Fundraising & Marketing Manager will be responsible for leading, managing and continuously developing the fundraising and communications teams.

Location: Hybrid working between Street Connect’s office in Glasgow city centre, home and visiting other project locations.

Healthy Valleys is a community-led organisation committed to providing outstanding local services that help preserve the mental and physical health and wellbeing of individuals, families, and communities living in rural South Lanarkshire. In 2023 we launched ‘Gear Up’ a new social enterprise dedicated to empowering communities through cycling, walking, and wheeling.

Due to successfully securing new funding from Smarter Choices Smarter Places, and the Coalburn, Douglas & Glespin Community Fund, we have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and energetic Gear Up Community & Team Lead who can drive the growth of this exciting enterprise.

You’ll lead on the development of our bike hire scheme and community hubs, manage the small staff and volunteer team, and drive the development of partnerships and commercial opportunities.

This role is subject to a PVG Disclosure Scotland check, which will be paid by Healthy Valleys.

Due to the requirement to travel around rural communities, the postholder must have a full, clean driving licence, access to their own transport (with appropriate business insurance) and be prepared to drive the Healthy Valleys van.
