Café and Activities Lead

The Café and Activities Lead will oversee the development and running of our community café and support the Hub Coordinator with development of new activities and social enterprise projects.

The post holder will work collaboratively with the Hub Coordinator, employees, volunteers, participants, the Board of Trustees, and other stakeholders to establish a thriving community venue accessible for everyone in the local community and based on the overarching principles of abstinence, trust, peer support, respect, and responsibility.

The post would suit someone with a genuine passion for interacting with and helping others and who want to take on a key role in providing a safe, inclusive, and welcoming place for community members to come together in Ayr.

Essential requirements for the post include lived experience of recovery from alcohol or drugs or an affected family member and the ability to work evenings and weekends as required for the role.

Hub Coordinator

Peer Worker

RecoveryAyr are seeking to recruit an experienced, proactive and passionate Peer Worker to work as part of a collaborative team with staff from We Are With You and Barnardos. The post holder will work as part of a community based team providing peer support within a person centred continuity of care based model of long term residential rehabilitation for residents of South Ayrshire, in line with the agreed strategic ambition of South Ayrshire Alcohol & Drug Partnership (ADP), and in line with the National Drugs Mission

Job aims

• To work as part of a multidisciplinary and collocated team in South Ayrshire that includes a range of staff, peers and volunteers from third sector and statutory services.

• To provide peer based support for individuals wishing to access long term residential rehabilitation.

• To work collaboratively with individuals to promote recovery adopting a person centred approach.

• To work collaboratively with a wide range of statutory and third sector partners across the ADP, as well as with internal and external stakeholders, to achieve effective, safe and innovative service provision.
