Last year we involved 5,000 staff and 9,000 volunteers supporting nearly 70,000 people in the UK and around the world, Leonard Cheshire provides support to 3,200 people in a variety of UK living services including supported living, nursing and day centre facilities. We also support 12,000 young people in the UK with skills, confidence and employment programmes. Internationally, we are a specialist development non-governmental organisation, delivering inclusive education, youth leadership and access to livelihoods programmes to more than 50,000 people in 15 countries across Asia and Africa.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team in Scotland. Working with the Senior Community Coordinator (Scotland), this role will be responsible for the effective local delivery of the Can Do programme in designated areas, by enabling disabled young people across the programme to develop life skills and to increase their level of independence through engaging in community volunteering opportunities, and by working towards gaining qualifications and by gaining employability skills.

You will have:
We are looking for candidates who have a good knowledge of the local community, are passionate about supporting young disabled people and have the motivation to make a difference. You will have experience of delivering/organising projects and events. Knowledge of teaching life skills or youth work is highly compatible with this role. You will be a confident pro-active communicator, who can work well in partnership with colleagues across the organisation, promoting the work of the programme, and creating opportunities for our volunteers within the charity and with external partners.
