Hillcrest Futures is recruiting for a Support Worker. There are various part-time and full-time hours available, ranging from 16-39 hours per week.

About the Service

Kinloss Park project situated in Cupar is a group home for 4 individuals with various conditions such as learning disability, autism, mental health and physical difficulties. The project is 24/7 with a sleepover shift on site for any emergencies during the night. The property is a HMO with a lovely garden and appearance of a family home. Tenants are supported on a 1-2-1 basis and have shared support for meal times and in the evening. There is a 4 week rolling rota in place so you will have your shifts in advance which is effective for maintaining a work life balance.

About the Role

The Support Worker may involve:

  • Supporting individuals with their medication
  • Accessing community-based resources
  • Daily life skills (menu planning, cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping)
  • Support to manage finances and money
  • Maintain personal health and hygiene including personal care
  • Support with other issues that arise
  • Emotional support
  • Promotion of positive mental health including coping strategies
  • Supporting the individuals to attend volunteering
  • Holidays and weekend breaks
  • Reporting repairs to the council as required

About You

You will:

  • Have a positive, flexible attitude, with an encouraging nature
  • Have excellent communication skills including verbal and written
  • Be highly organised with the ability to work on own initiative
  • Have the ability to react efficiently and effectively in emergency situations
  • Be open to attending and maintaining ongoing training needs
  • Possess an Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) Level 2 in Health and Social Care or have the ability to work towards this qualification
  • Flexibility with shifts patterns including weekend work, evenings, sleepovers and waking nights

All successful candidates will be required to obtain registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of taking up the post

As LoveOliver has grown so has our ambition, and we are expanding our small team to help us move forward at this exciting time for the organisation. The Role

We are recruiting a Hub Coordinator to lead the small but incredible team of volunteers at The Hub, with support from our Operations Manager.

LoveOliver has run a drop-in café at The Hub since 2022 and having recently taken on the ownership of the entire building; this is an exciting time to be joining the service as we seek to expand our offering for children and families.

We are seeking a candidate who is compassionate, creative and organised, to help us support children and families on their cancer journey, from diagnosis to treatment and beyond. Our ideal candidate will have good organisational skills to manage rotas, food stocks and volunteers, and crucially will be able to build positive relationships with families, volunteers and partners such as hospital staff, social workers and other charities offering support through The Hub.

The Hub Coordinator will also be key to developing our service provision at The Hub, working closely with families to identify further support and activity opportunities and then leading on implementation, collaborating with our staff and volunteers to make things happen.

As Financial Wellbeing Adviser, you will lead the development and delivery of COVEY’s financial wellbeing offer providing welfare benefits support, income maximisation, budgeting guidance, energy advice and debt triage/advocacy. You will work closely with Service Managers, Family Support Workers and external partners to ensure advice is accurate, trauma-informed and fully integrated into wider support plans. You will also maintain clear referral pathways for specialist or regulated debt advice, ensuring compliance with FCA boundaries and best practice.

What We’re Looking For

  • Significant experience delivering money, energy or debt advice to individuals or families, ideally within community, youth or family support settings
  • Strong knowledge of welfare benefits, income maximisation, budgeting support, energy efficiency measures and debt solutions
  • Understanding of the causes and impact of poverty on children, young people and families and the stigma around financial hardship
  • Experience working with vulnerable individuals using trauma‑informed, person‑centred approaches with the ability to convey complex information sensitively

You will lead our new partnership project focused on the delivery of a community-led model of support for neurodivergent children, young people and their families. Working closely with families, third sector and statutory partners, you will lead this exciting project from through implementation to evaluation, sharing and embedding the learning across our cross-sector partnership.

What You’ll Do

  • Work alongside third sector organisations supporting a diverse range of families, children and young people, with a focus on listening to their neurodevelopmental needs.
  • Work closely with cross-sector partners to build a community-led pathway to advice and support that is accessible, inclusive and easy to navigate.
  • Identify third sector training needs; working closely with all partners to co-design, deliver and evaluate a programme of accredited training to meet the identified community need.

You’ll help provide the glue that holds a diverse coalition together, enabling it to be greater than the sum of its parts.

From taking minutes at meetings with MSPs, helping deliver our campaigns to making sure invoices are paid on time - this is a varied and rewarding role and we are looking for someone keen to be a key part of the Scottish climate movement and get stuck into everything it involves!

Stop Climate Chaos Scotland (SCCS) is Scotland’s climate coalition, bringing together over 70 civil society organisations campaigning together on climate change.

Our membership is diverse and includes national and community organisations working on:

Together, we represent hundreds of thousands of people across Scotland and stand in solidarity with communities most affected by climate impacts around the world. We use this support to influence decision-makers to put in place fair, effective policies to reduce emissions and benefits for everyone.

Key tasks

  • Lead on all aspects of charity administration, relating to membership, governance, finance and events and campaigns.
  • Manage various day-to-day financial processes, for example raising invoices, reconciling bank statements, and preparing financial reports (currently, financial software Xero is used)
  • Act as the main point of contact for SCCS, including for current and new member enquiries, and maintain coalition membership records and databases

Qualifications

No specific qualifications are required for the role: the knowledge, skills and experience of the successful candidate will be more important than formal academic qualifications.

Terms and conditions

  • Salary: £27,000 pro rata, so £16,200 for 3 days a week
  • Hours: 3 days a week (21 hours), which can be spread across 4 or 5 days. The post holder may need to work the occasional evening or weekend, for which time off in lieu will be granted. Overtime will not be paid.
  • Location: Primarily from home, with occasional office working in central Edinburgh. Other travel may be required to meetings, most often in the central belt, but occasionally in other parts of Scotland or the UK (for which travel expenses will be paid).

  • Holiday: 28 days annual leave plus 11 days statutory holidays (pro rata).
