Hamilton Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) was formed over 50 years ago to provide a holistic advice service to the residents of Hamilton. As a member of the Scottish Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux network, Hamilton CAB aims to provide free, independent, impartial, and confidential advice and information to ensure that people understand their rights and responsibilities and can express their needs effectively. We campaign and influence to tackle the root cause of the problems people face and work to strengthen their rights.

Hamilton CAB currently operates from two offices in Hamilton and are supported by 18 members of staff and 31 volunteers including board members. The Bureau supports individuals with a wide range of general enquiries whilst project staff provide specialist support on topics including benefits, debt, utilities, and money matters.

The role:

We are seeking a committed and dynamic individual to serve as the Chair of our organisation.

As Chair, you will play a vital role by providing strategic leadership to the board, ensuring it fulfils its responsibilities for the governance of the organisation. You will also provide line management, support and direction to the Chief Officer, helping them to achieve the organisation’s aims and objectives; and ensures the smooth running of Hamilton CAB.

We are looking for an individual who has experience of leadership and governance. You will have a passion for the voluntary sector, strong leadership skills and an ability to drive forward positive change.

Although, not financially remunerated, the role is high profile and respected within the community and will offer a great challenge, learning and networking opportunity for the right person.

There are an average of 6 Board meetings per year to commit to as well as preparation time and regular collaboration /communications with the team and stakeholders.

As a few of our Trustees, including our Chair, are reaching the end of their extended terms, Cumbernauld Action for Care of the Elderly (CACE) is seeking passionate individuals to join our dedicated team of Trustees. Key Responsibilities of a Trustee, including the Chair:

• Collaborate with fellow Trustees to provide strategic leadership and governance for CACE.
• Lead and facilitate the Board (for the Chair) to ensure it fulfils its governance responsibilities.

• Review and approve budgets, financial reports, and funding applications to maximize our impact.

West Lothian Drug & Alcohol Service is a well-established third sector organisation with a history and reputation for delivering a wide range of effective education and prevention, early interventions and psychological therapies around alcohol and drug services throughout West Lothian.

We are seeking to recruit a Project Worker within our Therapeutic Support Service to provide counselling and support for adults experiencing addiction issues.

This will be a full-time office-based post (36.25hrs per week) on a FIXED TERM contract until 31 March 2026 (with possibility of extension subject to funding).

The role will mainly involve 1 to 1 working with individuals, some group work delivery and attendance at Access Drop-in venues delivering harm reduction interventions across West Lothian in a range of settings.

Action Against Stalking is a charity organisation that provides free professional confidential independent support advocacy for individuals who are experiencing stalking. Founded by Dr. Ann Moulds CBE, AAS shares knowledge and expertise with justice agencies, provides training and CPD to professionals, and influences policy and practice nationally and internationally. Role Description

This is a non-renumerated Board of Trustees role at Action Against Stalking. The Trustees are responsible for the overall governance, strategic direction, and financial oversight of the charity. The role involves attending board meetings, participating in committee work, contributing to the development and implementation of strategic plans, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. alongside the chair, CEO and appointed trustees. This is a hybrid role, ideally based in Ayr, or surrounding cities with flexibility for remote work. We are seeking individuals with a passion for supporting our charity with our primary focus on victim rights and victim support. We hold relationships with agencies and support partners across Scotland, and the wider national and international communities.

You may have a background in social care, policing, or previous experience with championing the rights of victims. You could be a HR specialist, or a communications expert. We are seeking committed individuals from wide and varied backgrounds to join us.

Qualifications

• Experience in governance and strategic leadership

• Appreciation and understanding of the issues surrounding stalking

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work collaboratively, as a team player and make collective decisions

• Financial literacy and experience in financial oversight
