Role
SLIC is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, dynamic and dedicated individual to support the programme team. SLIC lead several programmes which ensure Scotland’s libraries are innovative and exciting venues enriching the lives of their communities. This post will provide vital support to continue to deliver the national aims of Forward: Scotland’s Public Library Strategy 2021-2025. The post holder will also work with key library stakeholders and partner organisations on a number of programmes including digital inclusion, sustainability, cultural experiences and evidence-based project delivery.
Terms of Work
This post offers flexible working and requires an ability to travel with occasional overnight stays. The SLIC office is based in Glasgow, although the team mainly work a hybrid model.
This post offers a flexible work pattern to be agreed with successful candidate. Options include 3 days at 7 hours or 4 days at 5.25 hours. Candidates must be able to work one of the following days as part of their pattern: Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday.

The Highlands & Islands Climate Hub is fully funded by the Scottish Government and is one of a network of Climate Action Hubs established across Scotland to offer networking, support and encouragement of community led climate action. The vision for the Hub is to support and empower communities to develop local solutions to make the transition to net zero and climate resilient living through empowerment and capacity building in communities throughout the region.
The Hub has been operating since September 2021 and is a membership organisation supporting communities across Highland and the Northern Isles of Orkney and Shetland. The vision of the overall Hub Programme defined by Scottish Government is A network of climate action hubs providing a vehicle for communities to come together and engage in collective climate action, supporting the just transition to net zero and climate resilient living, and driving wider change.

JOB PURPOSE
The Training Officer will design, coordinate, and deliver training that strengthens the capacity of communities and community organisations to engage in climate action. This role will identify learning needs, develop relevant training resources, and facilitate learning opportunities that support community groups at all stages of their climate journey; from initial awareness through to project delivery and evaluation.
As a key member of the Business Development workstream, the Training Officer will also identify opportunities to deliver training, workshops, and resources that can generate earned income. This will contribute to the Hub’s strategic goal of diversifying from core grant income and supporting long-term financial sustainability.
The role will support communities across the Highlands and Northern Isles of Orkney and Shetland. You therefore must reside within the Highland, Shetland or Orkney Local Authority areas. Homeworking is the norm, however, if you do reside within easy travelling distance of either our Inverness or Thurso office, 1/2 days office-based work would be required.
The Hub holds regular staff meetups, which may be at our Inverness or Thurso Office and there would be a further expectation to attend national Hub Gatherings.

Job Summary
Under its current 5-year strategy (2021 – 2025), ‘Choosing Peace in times of fear & division’, Place for Hope has successfully grown and diversified its partnerships, funding and volunteer team. This has enabled us to grow our reach and impact in equipping people and faith communities to be peacemakers working towards a more peaceful and reconciled world.
The new Director of Place for Hope will continue to develop Place for Hope as they work with Trustees, Staff and Volunteers to shape and finalise the next 5-year strategy that ensures Place for Hope is fit for purpose in a changing UK landscape for charities and faith communities. They will provide leadership and to be responsible for the overall management and administration of the charity within the strategic and accountability frameworks agreed by the Board of Trustees.
Previous experience essential to the role includes: values-based leadership; peace, conflict transformation and/or mediation; collaborating and communicating effectively with different Christian denominations and other faiths, excellent organisational and communication skills, and experience in income generation (including through building diverse partnerships). The ideal candidate would also have an interest in supporting faith communities to transform conflict, navigate change well and be able to support an internal CPD programme and culture of reflective practice.

We are seeking to recruit a Head of Marketing to join our Creative Team. This is an exciting opportunity to drive marketing strategy and contribute to the creative direction of SU Scotland’s ministry as we seek to engage more children and young people with our ministry.
PURPOSE:
Reporting to the Creative Director, the Head of Marketing will play a leading role in the creation, planning and implementation of a marketing strategy for SU Scotland.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create a marketing strategy for SU Scotland
- Plan and deliver creative marketing and publicity campaigns, leading to increased levels of ministry activity
- Drive content marketing strategy around new online channels and Bible engagement resources
- Develop and manage the SU Scotland brand
- Provide ongoing marketing consultancy and advice to ministry leaders across SU Scotland
- Participate fully in the life and ministry of Scripture Union Scotland.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
We are seeking an exceptionally creative individual who has demonstrable leadership and marketing expertise. Previous experience of creating strategic plans for marketing delivery is essential. The successful applicant will be able to build constructive working relationships across all levels of the organisation and have excellent written communication, editorial and presentation skills.
