Role

Do you want to work outdoors, explore your creative flair, and make a real difference to your local community?

If you have a passion for growing plants and supporting people to grow this could be the perfect role for you! Would you enjoy contributing and implementing new innovative ideas in our walled garden, helping to develop a ‘growing and maintenance’ plan?

A new opportunity for a Community Gardener within our Falkirk services has arisen that could be perfect for you!

About the Walled Garden

The Walled Garden is one of Cyrenians public facing services, where we support people on Community Payback Orders to put back into the community and develop their own horticultural skills.

Set in a public space of half an acre within Dollar Park, the walled garden is valued by the local community, offering a space for events, volunteering and simply enjoying the tranquillity the garden has to offer.

About the role

You’ll be part of a small garden team who work closely with those on community payback orders and community volunteers. As community gardener you’ll:

  • Contribute to the design and maintenance of the walled garden
  • Support those on community payback orders to learn new skills
  • Help create a community space where everyone feels welcome

About you

You’ll be an experienced and passionate gardener with a dynamic ‘can-do’ attitude. You should also have:

  • A genuine interest in people, gardening and working outdoors.
  • Experience of supporting individuals in a garden environment
  • A flexible and creative approach to problem solving

How we’ll support you

You’ll be part of an experienced, knowledgeable team, with a supportive manager, who will help you develop and grow in your role. You’ll also have access to wider Cyrenians support, including our learning programme, and staff wellbeing services.
