Then Manor Estates Housing Association has the ideal opportunity for you.

We are currently looking for new Members to join our voluntary Board, which provides leadership and support to the Association’s staff. We need people who will collaborate with others to provide insight and strategic direction - and make sure that we continue to provide good quality housing and services which help improve people’s lives and the well-being of local communities.

We are particularly interested to hear from people with skills, knowledge, or experience in:

  • Accountancy (preferably a qualified accountant with experience of RSLs)
  • Housing Management
  • Asset Management
  • Procurement
  • ICT
  • Community Engagement
  • Third Sector experience.

We want to attract people who have a positive attitude, who are passionate about fairness and interested in housing. Previous board experience is beneficial but not essential as we offer a comprehensive induction and training programme. You will also be given opportunities to attend external conferences and events. Our Chair also carries out annual reviews with all Board members to make sure we are offering appropriate levels of support.

The positions on our Board are voluntary but we pay reasonable out of pocket expenses including transport and childcare costs.

We are particularly interested in ensuring that our Board is diverse and representative of the communities that we serve.

The Association and its subsidiary currently own and manage over 1000 social and 95 mid–market rent properties, as well as providing factoring services to 1700 owners operating throughout Edinburgh. We also have a small number of properties in Fife.
