Are you ready to embark on an engaging journey where you'll play a vital role in providing administrative support across the team including board meetings and tackling the day-to-day challenges of a dynamic charity? You will support all areas of the charity such as, Programmes and Volunteering, Fundraising, Marketing and Communications and Governance. The ICAS Foundation is on the lookout for a passionate and very organised individual to join us as a Foundation Administrator.
Who We Are: The ICAS Foundation is an independent charity that collaborates closely with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS) to champion equity, diversity, and inclusion among its members. For the past decade, we've been dedicated to empowering university students studying accountancy and finance, having granted over £2 million in funding. Each year, we support approximately 100 students across universities in Scotland and England, welcoming around 35 new Scholars annually and guiding them through their university journey for up to 4 years.
Our core mission is to enable academically talented young people from less privileged backgrounds to pursue accountancy or finance-related degrees. We accomplish this through financial bursaries, a mentoring scheme, and facilitating internships and graduate job opportunities.
The Job: As a Foundation Administrator, you'll dive into a multifaceted role that involves diary management, meeting coordination, minute-taking, data collection, and thanking donors for their donations. You will be skilled in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel, and supporting the administration needs of our volunteers, students and donors.
You'll help to organise board meetings, manage the mailbox, student bursary and grant enquiries administration and coordinate updates from mentors, students, and alumni. Additionally, you'll support fundraising initiatives, administering donations, writing thank you letters to donors and support at events to elevate our charity's visibility and income.
Your work will directly contribute to our mission of supporting young people from diverse backgrounds in the UK, enabling them to pursue higher education and a broader range of career opportunities, including becoming a Chartered Accountant.
Who We Need: We're seeking an experienced and organised administrator, with a preference for candidates who have worked in charitable organisations. However, we're open to various work experiences that can be applied to advance the ICAS Foundation's charitable purpose.
Our work is all about creating a positive impact for young people and is both rewarding and challenging. We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced and diverse role, enjoys engaging with others, and is adept at managing multiple tasks, stakeholders, and schedules. You should be comfortable juggling diaries, coordinating external meetings and events, and collaborating closely with a small, enthusiastic and hard-working team with direct responsibility to the Director.
This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the ICAS Foundation's mission, making a real impact in an organisation where you can roll up your sleeves and take on a pivotal role.
In addition to a competitive base salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including an employer pension scheme (9%), a generous holiday package (Up to 35 days including public holidays and the option to buy and sell), training and development opportunities, and up to 3 days paid volunteering days to support charitable activities. The post will be contracted on a joint employment basis between the ICAS Foundation and ICAS, benefiting from all of the features and benefits of an ICAS employee.
Application Deadline: 7th March 2024
