Apex Scotland exists to support people with experience of the justice system or those at risk of entering it helping them rebuild their lives and create a future beyond their past. We believe in second chances and treat every individual with dignity and respect, recognising their unique circumstances, needs, concerns, aspirations, and potential.

As a national organisation with a broad geographical reach, we deliver over 30 services in collaboration with partner organisations, providing essential support at both national and local levels. This includes throughcare and aftercare for individuals transitioning from custody, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to move forward.

Under the leadership of our current Chief Executive, Apex Scotland has successfully navigated a period of significant transformational change and modernisation, strengthening our long-term financial stability. We are now seeking a new Chief Executive to build on these strong foundations and lead the organisation into its next phase of development.

As the new Chief Executive, you will play a pivotal role in raising Apex Scotland’s profile as a national charity with in-depth expertise in supporting individuals who have interacted with the justice system. You will work to influence and shape national and local government policies, leveraging our existing positive relationships with the Scottish Government, local councils, and partner organisations. Additionally, you will engage with employers to challenge stigma around past convictions and champion meaningful opportunities for those we support.

A visionary, solutions-focused, and inclusive leader, you will bring a proven track record of building effective and collaborative relationships across a diverse range of external partners and stakeholders. With a strong commitment to advocating for those who have touched the justice system, you will use your expertise—along with transferable skills where relevant—to influence public perception, shape policy, and drive change within Scotland’s community and criminal justice landscape.
