Role

This is a really exciting time to join Girlguiding Scotland. With 45,000 young members we are the largest charity for girls and young women in Scotland. Girlguiding Scotland has been around for over 100 years and we have much to be proud of in that rich and vibrant history, but we know that to remain exciting and relevant to young people we must continually evolve.

The core function of this new role is to work directly with Girlguiding Scotland staff, members and potential members and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for innovation and change to overcome socio-economic barriers to participation.

This role will engage with Girlguiding’s inclusion and diversity team and consider how the UK-wide strategy can be implemented in Scotland. This will involve reviewing current participation rates and exploring real and perceived barriers to participation through a series of focus groups and engagement opportunities involving internal and external stakeholders.

You’ll also need an awareness and understanding of the socioeconomic barriers that impact youth and volunteer participation and be able to identify and build relationships with potential partner organisations.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter, able to demonstrate good planning and organisational skills and an ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines and business needs when working under pressure.

While Girlguiding’s young members may be women only, our staff team is mixed gender. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to inclusivity.
