Scottish Huntington’s Association (SHA) is a vibrant, values-led organisation founded by families for families impacted by Huntington’s disease (HD).

We are looking for an experienced part-time Financial Controller to join our small but busy team based at SHA’s National Office in Paisley. Your duties will involve the management of the finance-related processing tasks, such as income, expenditure, expenses, payroll and management accounts administration.

With at least three years’ experience in a similar role, you will have a good working knowledge of SAGE Accounts, IRIS payroll and Excel or similar financial software packages.

Training and a full induction programme will be provided, and your 18-hour weekly working pattern is negotiable.

For now, as the pandemic continues, you will be provided with a laptop to support a blend of home and socially-distanced Covid-19 compliant office working.

Job Outline/Description

The Financial Controller is accountable for delivering an accurate trail of company income and expenditure and presenting the results on a monthly basis in an excel spreadsheet format for the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Board Members. This work entails a close working relationship with two other members of the SHA Finance team.

You will be responsible in submitting and gathering accurate year end reports for submission to the auditors and working alongside the audit team and Finance team to produce an accurate account of SHA’s financial activities for the year.

You will be responsible for working with SLT and all budget holders to produce annual budgets to be submitted to the Board for approval.

The duties above are a fundamental requirement of the role however you will be required to assist members of the Finance team, SLT and budget holders with any finance expertise that may require your input.

In your capacity you will be a valued member of the operation and be expected to provide accurate financial information to help SHA staff make an accurate assessment of any financial requirements that may arise.
