Role

As Operations Officer, you are an agile and organised collaborator who effectively communicates across multiple projects whilst ensuring excellent attention to detail - we'd love to have you as part of our team.

The RSE is looking for an Operations Officer who will be the glue that brings together and facilitates the moving parts at the RSE. This role is integral to the smooth running of our organisation. Directly supporting the Chief Executive, our committees and business support, the Operations Officer ensures our processes are efficient and fit for purpose.

As Scotland’s National Academy with over 1,800 Fellows from academia, business and public service who are among the most distinguished in their fields; we engage and connect nationally and internationally to share knowledge and tackle the most pressing challenges of the modern world.

We are looking for a talented individual to:

  1. Support business planning, working with the Chief Executive, Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Executive Support Team (EST) as they develop the annual business plan and implement the monitoring and evaluation.
  2. Supports smooth running of RSE Council’s governance Committees (including coordinating/supporting nominations/elections process) by timetabling and coordinating support for the range of committees, linking to other RSE Committees as required (e.g. RSE Scotland Foundation, Fellowship, Programme).
  3. Provides secretarial support, preparing agendas, taking and drafting minutes, and commissioning papers as required for Committees, including RSE Scotland Foundation and Equality and Diversity Panel, providing cover for colleagues as required.
  4. Provides business support, including secretariat for meetings of the SLT, EST and Team Leaders, ensuring schedule of discussions on key topics (e.g. risk management, learning and development) and commissioning of papers as required.
  5. Deliver the development, implementation, and documentation of effective business processes.
