Role

This is an exciting time to join the Ayrshire Hospice as we look forward to celebrating our 35th birthday. We are in the midst of an exciting period of transformation, as we look to the future with the redevelopment of our Hospice building.

We are a passionate, determined, warm team, driven by our shared values of being kind and compassionate, inclusive and honest with the patients and families we serve, who are at the heart of all we do. Our vision at the Ayrshire Hospice is to make every day the best it can be for the patients and families in our care. Our vital work is filled with moments that make people smile during a time that can be difficult for everyone.

About The Role

Research tells us that more people will require our services in the future, therefore we need to make sure we can continue to support our wonderful staff team by maximising the positive impact of our committed volunteering team and increasing opportunities for people who wish to volunteer for the Hospice.

Our volunteer team are passionate about what we do and they give their time willingly because they understand how important our work is for the whole community of Ayrshire and Arran. We want to support our volunteers so they feel valued, trained and empowered to successfully contribute to the Hospice strategy. Our volunteer family is growing and we will be looking to increase our volunteer team from 350 to over double that number for when we return back to our Hospice home in 2024.

About You

To lead and support the volunteering team and to help achieve our strategic objectives, we are looking for an enthusiastic, determined and experienced individual. This person will be a strong communicator and people manager, who is able to motivate and inspire our team of volunteers. This person will be organised, diligent, approachable and someone who can think dynamically about what the future of volunteering looks like for the Ayrshire Hospice. There is room for growth in this role so we want to recruit an individual who loves a challenge and who has vision – but also has the ability to plan ahead, who is innovative and who has the talent to deliver the vision. We pride ourselves in having an open and collaborative environment with open debate and positive challenge in the pursuit of excellence.
