Looking for an opportunity to work for a flexible and family friendly organisation doing amazing work to support Scotland’s voluntary sector?

We’re looking for the right person to join us to support the delivery of SCVO’s communications and marketing needs for a 12-month, fixed term period.

In this role, you’ll join SCVO’s marketing and communications team and work alongside colleagues to nurture and grow SCVO’s membership community and to tell the story of SCVO and Scotland’s essential voluntary sector.

We’re looking for someone with hands-on experience and strong marketing skills who can support our busy marketing and comms team in delivering our goals.

You’ll use your skills and experience in content development, email marketing, social media marketing and media relations to engage our membership and sector-wide audiences with audience-focused, impactful marketing and communications content.

Part time hours and other flexible working options, including working from home for part of the week, will be fully considered. Job Specification

The Role:

The Donor Engagement & Communications Lead will creatively bring together the right people, information, and messaging to demonstrate the impact of philanthropy and partnerships at the Festival, and deploy appropriate strategies to maximise donor satisfaction and retention.

Able to write and develop content for a range of donor constituents on a variety of artistic forms, they will ensure fundraising is integrated into communication channels at all levels, and that frontline fundraisers on the team are equipped with the materials and content they need to grow and maintain fruitful donor relationships.

They will work closely with fundraisers and colleagues across the Development team to lead and manage the donor recognition and stewardship programme, as well as develop reports, updates and activities that connect supporters directly to the impact that they enable.

The Donor Engagement & Communications Lead will also foster productive internal relationships, particularly with colleagues in the Audiences department, to develop content and materials which articulate the Festival’s fundraising priorities and outcomes.

Performance Indicators and Deliverables

  • A strategic, nuanced, year-round communications plan for the Festival’s donor and prospects, particularly those who don’t regularly attend the Festival
  • Exceptional written content, tailored for different donors and tones of voice (including our brand tone of voice) which communicates our case for support and the impact of our supporters’ generosity
  • Engaging strategic events, bringing artists and supporters closer together, in support of our fundraising strategy
  • Supporting frontline fundraising personnel with the materials, resources, and assets they need to communicate effectively and consistently with their donors and prospects

Role Overview

As our Treasurer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of South West Community Transport. You will oversee our financial management, reporting, and planning, ensuring we continue to support our communities by offering vital transport services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation of the annual budget and annual financial statements to the Board

• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and guidelines.

• Liaise with external auditors and manage the annual audit process.

• Provide financial advice to the board and support strategic planning.

• Monitor cash flow and manage financial risks.

• Present the latest financial position at quarterly Board meetings (balance sheet, cash flow, fundraising performance etc)

• Liaise with relevant staff and trustees to ensure that effective financial procedures and controls are in place

Job Overview

What does the role involve?

We are keen to find an HR Operations Manager with breadth and depth of HR experience who can take forward includem’s mission and principles.

With an awareness of the complexity of the third sector and the HR challenges we face, you will bring a solutions-focussed, collaborative approach to the role.

This is a varied and hands-on position. Through your business partnering skills, you will provide advice and coaching to line managers; and lead effective employee relations, efficient HR Admin support, and change projects, including HR Systems development.

You will be responsible for implementing new approaches and methods of delivery to recruitment, KPI reporting and case management, focusing on meeting the needs of includem.

An integral part of the Senior Management Team, you will lead on development of the HR Strategy, will be excited to take the lead on change-management tasks and be able to demonstrate that such challenges will not phase you.

You will work within a small team with direct line management responsibility for an HR Adviser and HR Assistant, and will report to the Director of Services and Development.

Essential Criteria

  • CIPD membership or equivalent substantial HR experience as Snr HR Advisor/HR Business Partner .
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of Employment Law.
  • Proven skills in influencing, communication and working collaboratively with internal and external colleagues, building professional networks to enhance organisational profile.
  • Able to evidence personal drive, innovation, confidence, and commitment to engage others, especially in change management initiatives.
  • Able to work independently and ensure the achievement of agreed departmental objectives.
  • Resilient with flexibility and adaptability and ability to self-manage and work on own initiative.
  • Understands the need to maximise people resources efficiently and effectively to meet the needs of people who use includem services and their families/carers.
  • Experienced in dealing with complex employee relations cases e.g. TUPE.
  • Interest and proven ability in report writing, policy and procedure reviews and summarising detailed information.
  • Committed to continuous professional development.

Desirable Criteria

  • Knowledge of the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and Disclosure Scotland (PVGs, Disclosures).
  • Experience of working in the social care/third sector

Appointment of Board Members to the Scottish Library and Information Council

The Scottish Library and Information Council (SLIC) is seeking to appoint new members to its Board. The appointments are for three years and will run from November 2026.

Information about the Scottish Library and Information Council

SLIC is the independent advisory body to the Scottish Government on library and information related matters. It is a registered charity and an independent company. It is also a membership organisation representing the interests of public, academic, FE College and special interest libraries within Scotland. SLIC is responsible for leading on the national strategy for public libraries and school libraries.

Board Responsibilities

The Board meets four times a year in addition to the AGM. Board members are expected to serve on a sub-committee which can involve a commitment of up to another three days.

The Board provides strategic direction and oversight. Major policy decisions are made at Board level. The decisions of the Board are actioned through the Chief Executive and senior management team of the organisation. As Board members are directors of the organisation applicants must:

  • be at least 16 years old.
  • not be an undischarged bankrupt.
  • not be a disqualified director.

Please note the appointments are on a voluntary basis, however reasonable out of pocket expenses will be paid.

SLIC was formed in 1991 and provides a leadership focus for Scottish library and information services. We lead development in the library sector, monitor standards of provision and promote development. Our greatest strength is our membership. Members are drawn from the public sector, higher education institutions, further education colleges and special interest libraries.
