We are seeking a full-time Family Support Development Officer, responsible for delivering our East Dunbartonshire Family Support Service, and working in partnership with partner organisations, families and communities. This is a permanent post.
This post will develop, deliver, support and promote family support and engagement for family members who are affected by someone else’s substance use.
The post is located in East Dunbartonshire and has an East Dunbartonshire wide remit involving significant travel throughout the council area and to our Head Office in Glasgow. It is expected that the post holder will be required to work some evenings and occasional weekends. This post will be part of Scottish Families’ staff team and will be supervised by the Senior Family Support Development Officer.
We are seeking applicants with a degree in a relevant subject or equivalent professional qualification, and experience of direct client work, group work, and direct work with families, as well as identifying and managing risk. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of issues for families affected by substance use, values underpinning advocacy, and an understanding of the voluntary sector. The ability to encourage and promote the development of family support, and effectively and sensitively advocate for others, are essential, as well as strong organisational skills and interpersonal and communication skills.
We are currently looking to recruit support workers to join our small team within Inclusion Alliance. The role involves supporting people with learning disabilities to be included in the community and lead an ordinary life. Your work would involve helping people to access educational, social, leisure and work or volunteering opportunities in the community.
No experience or formal qualifications are necessary for the role although a caring nature, positive attitude and a sense of fun are important characteristics to have. New staff will receive paid training and undertake shadow shifts with experienced staff members during induction. We want new staff to feel ready and able to work prior to working on their own for the first time.

In partnership with professionals, carers, and organisations, you will help to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people.
The role will also include facilitating group opportunities for and with children and young people within the Dundee area. This includes providing engagement and participation opportunities, throughout the Who Cares? Scotland local and national networks.
The post holder will raise awareness of Who Cares? Scotland and its services to children, young people, professionals, third sector partners and carers. You will also help facilitate training to Dundee’s Corporate Parents alongside our national Corporate Parenting team.

The purpose of this role is to provide high-quality emotional support and advocacy to bereaved families across Scotland, while leading the development and delivery of bereavement support services.The Bereavement Support Manager will play a key role in expanding services, including the befriending programme, and ensuring consistent, compassionate support for families following the sudden and unexpected death of a baby or young child.

Our Service is a busy respite care unit for children and young people with additional support needs, including complex learning and physical disabilities. As well as providing short residential breaks the service offers outreach to families and is also involved in the managing and running of an after school club as well as busy Easter and Summer play schemes.
Based in a quiet, residential street in Prestwick, our disability support service offers a safe, homely environment for a child to come and stay for a short break that gives their families a rest from their caring role. During that break, children enjoy a range of fun activities and experiences with our staff who specialise in taking care of children with disabilities. Our service is very much a ‘home from home’ for the children who stay with us.
What we are looking for...
Our relief workers play a crucial role in supporting our team. This work is offered on a casual, hourly paid basis to provide cover during staff absence and/or particularly busy periods. Shifts are worked on a rota basis - Some examples of shifts are: 9:45pm-8:45am (Wednesdays and Thursdays), 10pm-9am (Fridays), 9pm-9am (Saturdays) and 9pm-8:45am (Sundays).
We understand that applicants may have a number of other commitments however the ability to respond at short notice is an essential part of being a relief member of staff.
Ideally, candidates will have social care experience, an understanding of autism, complex needs and disability. You will be required to register with the SSSC under the Residential Child Care Workers category and the Day Care of Children Services category. You will hold, or be willing to work towards, the relevant qualification requirements for these categories (for example, a HNC and an SVQ 3, or equivalent). You must also be able to demonstrate awareness of the key elements of working with people affected by disability as well as an understanding of, and commitment to, young people’s rights.
