Love bringing people together, creating brilliant events and turning great ideas into opportunities that make a difference? This could be the role for you.
Your new opportunity
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and commercially minded Events & Fundraising Lead join Quarriers and help us grow our fundraising, partnerships and events.
This is no ordinary fundraising role. One day you could be building relationships with community groups and corporate partners, the next you could be bringing a conference to life, developing a new fundraising idea or showcasing William Quarrier Scottish Epilepsy Centre (WQSEC) as a fantastic venue for events and training.
You’ll have the freedom to build connections, spot opportunities and make things happen – all while generating valuable income that supports the work of Quarriers and WQSEC.
What you’ll be doing
What we’re looking for
You might already work in fundraising, events or business development – or you may have built your experience in a customer-focused commercial role. What matters most is that you’re a confident relationship-builder who enjoys variety, takes ownership and can turn opportunities into action.
You’ll bring:
Charity-sector, venue or conference experience would be a bonus, as would experience of working with volunteers or using Raiser’s Edge – but don’t let that stop you applying if you have great transferable experience.
A role with variety and flexibility
This is a full-time role working 35 hours per week. We work in an agile way, so your week will be a blend of working from WQSEC in Glasgow, visiting communities and partners across Scotland, and working from home, depending on what you need to achieve.
Fundraising and great events don’t always happen Monday to Friday, 9 to 5, so occasional evening and weekend working will be required to support events and fundraising activity.
If you’re looking for a varied role where you can be creative, build meaningful partnerships, deliver memorable events and see the impact of your work, we’d love to hear from you.
About Us
Quarriers is one of Scotland’s leading social care charities. We provide practical care and support for vulnerable children, adults and families who face extremely challenging circumstances. We challenge poverty and inequality of opportunity to bring about positive changes in people’s lives.
Benefits
Can you turn research and intelligence into practical opportunities that help fundraisers build stronger relationships and grow income? We are looking for a curious, analytical and collaborative Philanthropy Executive to strengthen CHAS’s prospect pipeline and help identify the people, organisations and connections with the greatest potential to support children and families across Scotland.
This is much more than a desk research role. You will combine high-quality prospect research and donor intelligence with sound judgement, relationship mapping and pipeline insight. Working closely with fundraisers and external research partners, you will identify and qualify prospective supporters, recommend routes to engagement and help ensure promising opportunities are progressed effectively.
You will produce clear briefings and evidence-based recommendations across philanthropy, corporate foundations and partnerships and campaign fundraising. You will also help maintain accurate prospect information, support regular pipeline reviews and translate complex research into practical next steps that colleagues can act on.
The role sits within CHAS’s Partnerships & Philanthropy team and will contribute to long-term fundraising growth, including our More Than A Hospice appeal. It is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys connecting insight with action and wants their work to have a clear, meaningful purpose.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring strong research and analytical skills, excellent judgement and the confidence to work collaboratively with colleagues across fundraising. You will have:
Experience of major donor, corporate foundations, or campaign fundraising would be helpful, as would experience of relationship mapping, due diligence, wealth screening or working with external research providers. These are desirable rather than essential.
About CHAS
At CHAS, we support families during the toughest of times. We have ambitions to reach every family in Scotland who is living with the heart-breaking prognosis that their child is dying and offer them our care and support to empower them to make the most of the short time they have together, as well as supporting them with life after loss.
Our fundraising teams make this possible by building meaningful, long-term relationships with people and organisations who share our ambition. In this role, your insight will help colleagues focus on the strongest opportunities, understand prospective supporters and develop thoughtful routes to engagement.
MAKE A REAL DIFFERENCE TO OUR COMMUNITY
We’re recruiting a Development Manager!
Turn local ambition into lasting community impact
We’ve secured £3.5 million towards our proposed £6 million Community Hub, raised £430,000 for our free-to-use Community Pump Track, and own and manage three community woodlands. Now we’re ready for our next chapter.
Dalgety Community Trust is seeking an ambitious, resourceful Development Manager to help unlock funding, develop community assets, build partnerships and create lasting benefits for Dalgety Bay, Hillend and the surrounding area.
As our first employee, you’ll work closely with trustees, volunteers and local partners to turn big ideas into practical results and build a stronger, more sustainable charity.
What will you do?
What are we looking for?
You’ll bring:
Experience in charities, community development, grant funding, capital projects, asset management or volunteer development would be an advantage. Relevant experience and transferable skills matter more than formal qualifications.
Above all, you’ll be proactive, approachable and motivated by making a genuine difference. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds.
What we offer
The appointment: January 2027–December 2029 is the planned programme. The initial appointment is for one year, with continuation into Years 2 and 3, dependent on securing further funding. Regular community engagement is essential, with some evening and weekend work.
