Alzheimer Scotland

Top job! Head of Strategic Partnerships

  • Alzheimer Scotland
  • Full time
  • £48,361 – £52,978
  • Hybrid: Glasgow or Edinburgh with opportunity for hybrid working
  • Closing 2nd November 2026

Who we are

Alzheimer Scotland is Scotland’s national dementia charity. Our aim is to make sure nobody faces dementia alone. We provide support and information to people with dementia, their carers and families, campaign for the rights of people affected by dementia, fund vital dementia research and lead work to improve brain health, helping people understand the steps they can take to reduce their risk of dementia.

What you’ll do

We are looking for an ambitious partnership-builder who sees possibilities others miss and has the drive and determination to turn them into reality. You will identify untapped sectors, challenge conventional thinking and create distinctive and successful new partnerships that expand Alzheimer Scotland’s reach, influence and impact.

The opportunity extends far beyond traditional charity partnerships. Across sport, music, financial and legal services, brain health and wider community life, organisations are waiting to be connected with our mission in new ways. You will spot where our ambitions intersect, open doors that others overlook and build relationships that turn shared purpose into lasting impact.

This role goes beyond corporate fundraising or managing an existing portfolio of Charity of the Year supporters. You will originate and build new, senior-level strategic relationships, creating partnerships that can generate income and sponsorship while also unlocking training, joint campaigns, public engagement, knowledge-sharing and access to new audiences.

You will have the freedom and autonomy to originate ideas, build relationships and explore what a partnership could become with the judgement and focus to make it happen. From researching new sectors and identifying prospects, to shaping tailored propositions, working through delivery requirements and securing commitments, you will own the journey from first insight to lasting partnership. Working closely with the Director of Fundraising & Operations, you will draw on expertise across our Fundraising, Communications, Services and Practice, bringing the right colleagues into discussions at the right time. The ultimate aim is to create new partnerships that generate sustainable income for Alzheimer Scotland, alongside stronger awareness, engagement and opportunities to reach and acquire new supporters.

What you’ll have

You will bring a strong track record in strategic partnerships, business development or a related field. Crucially, you will be able to demonstrate how you have opened new relationships, influenced senior decision-makers and converted opportunities into tangible outcomes.

You will be naturally curious about different sectors, commercially astute and confident in developing an idea from an initial conversation into a convincing and sustainable proposal. You will be equally comfortable exploring a bold opportunity and doing the detailed follow-through needed to make it happen.

Experience in the charity sector or knowledge of dementia is welcome, but what matters most is your ability to create authentic partnerships that deliver meaningful and measurable value. Above all, you will be able to demonstrate how you have built a proposition or partnership from the ground up, exercising sound judgement and converting strategic potential into a practical, deliverable agreement.

Scottish Youth Parliament

Top job! Chief Executive Officer

  • Scottish Youth Parliament
  • Full time
  • £60,000 – £70,000
  • Hybrid: Edinburgh
  • Closing 1st November 2026

The Scottish Youth Parliament is the democratically elected voice of Scotland’s young people. We provide a national platform for young people to discuss the issues that matter to them, defend their rights and influence the decisions that shape their lives.

Around 160 Members of the Scottish Youth Parliament – MSYPs – represent communities and voluntary organisations across Scotland. Our organisation is genuinely youth-led: our campaigns and priorities are shaped by young people, and our Board is made up entirely of young Trustees aged between 16 and 25.

We are now looking for our next Chief Executive. This is an opportunity to lead a respected national organisation with a strong political profile and a proud record of achieving change. SYP’s campaigns have contributed to Votes at 16, equal marriage and the incorporation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child into Scots law.

Working closely with our Chair and Board, you will help set SYP’s strategic direction and turn the ambitions of our Strategic Plan and Dear Scotland’s Future manifesto into meaningful action. You will lead and develop our staff team, strengthen our relationships with decision-makers and partners, and ensure that SYP remains sustainable, well-governed and equipped for the future.

You will also be a visible ambassador for SYP and young people’s rights. You will build trusted relationships across government, Parliament, local authorities, funders, the third sector and the wider youth work community, influencing effectively while protecting SYP’s political impartiality.

We are looking for a values-led, inclusive and ambitious leader with experience of delivering results within a complex organisation.

You will bring strong strategic and people leadership skills, sound judgement and an understanding of governance, finance and organisational risk. You will also understand how policy is developed and influenced in Scotland.

Most importantly, you will believe in youth leadership. You will know how to advise, support and constructively challenge a young board without taking ownership of its decisions. You will listen carefully, communicate openly and create space for young people to lead.

You do not need to be an existing Chief Executive. You may be ready to take your first step into a CEO role, having already demonstrated the leadership capability, values and potential to succeed at this level. Experience of youth work would be valuable but is not essential. What is essential is a genuine commitment to young people’s rights, meaningful participation and social justice.

SYP wants its leadership and staff team to reflect the diversity of Scotland’s young people. We therefore welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and particularly encourage interest from candidates whose perspectives and experiences are underrepresented in senior leadership. A flexible approach to evening and weekend work will be required.

  • Right There
  • Full time
  • £55,219 – £60,741

Are you an ambitious communications leader who wants your work to change lives? If the answer is yes, this could be the opportunity you have been waiting for. Bring your creativity, judgement and leadership to Right There and help make our impact impossible to ignore.

For over 200 years, Right There has helped prevent people becoming homeless and keep families together across Scotland. Last year alone, over 4,000 people received the support they needed to stay in their homes and close to the people they love. We have a proud history, an urgent mission and the ambition to reach even further. Now we need an exceptional communications leader to illuminate our work, strengthen trust in Right There and inspire the support that will make even greater impact possible.

This is a high-profile leadership opportunity at the heart of Right There. As a member of our Senior Management Team, you will influence organisational strategy, shape how Scotland understands our work and build the audiences, profile and support we need to achieve lasting change.

You will have the freedom and influence to strengthen our brand, bring our impact vividly to life and ensure that the voices and experiences of the people we support are heard with care and authenticity. Your first opportunity will be to bring our marketing, communications, PR, public affairs and digital activity together behind Our compelling vision. You will give Right There a clearer, stronger and more distinctive voice, while ensuring that everything we communicate remains rooted in the real experiences of the people we support.

Setting the direction. You will set the strategic direction for communications, public affairs and supporter engagement, building Right There’s profile, influence and connection with the people and communities we want to reach.

Leading with care and confidence. You will develop a creative, high-performing team and set clear standards so communications are accessible and ethical.

What you bring

You will already be an accomplished leader in marketing, communications or PR, ideally within a charity or social-purpose organisation, and you will be ready to bring that experience to a mission with real urgency. You will combine strategic ambition with humanity: making thoughtful decisions, building respectful relationships and creating communications that honour the dignity, strengths and experiences of the people we support.

  • You have led integrated, multi-channel activity across digital, social media, PR, content and campaigns.
  • You can translate strategy into high-quality work that reaches audiences and delivers measurable results.
  • You bring strong editorial judgement and experience of shaping brands, messages and media relationships.
  • You use insight and analytics to improve performance and ensure communications are accessible, ethical and appropriate for sensitive subject matter.
  • You are a motivating and inclusive leader with compassion, curiosity and a genuine belief in the power of people’s stories.

Our offer

This is a full-time role working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. You will be based at 15 Dava Street in Glasgow, with a hybrid approach that combines around three office days each week with flexibility to work remotely. Our offer includes six weeks’ annual leave pro rata, rising to eight weeks after your first year, membership of the People’s Pension, a cycle-to-work scheme and the option to purchase or sell annual leave.

If you are ready to use the power of communications to build understanding, challenge assumptions and help create lasting change across Scotland, we want to hear from you.
