VASLan (Voluntary Action South Lanarkshire) is the Third Sector Interface (TSI) for South Lanarkshire, supporting and representing a diverse local third sector of approximately 1,400 community, voluntary and social enterprise organisations. Through its work in community development, partnership building, sector support and advocacy, VASLan enables local organisations to thrive, strengthens the voice of communities and helps create the conditions for a more resilient, inclusive and connected South Lanarkshire.
The organisation is now seeking a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead VASLan into an exciting new phase of strategic development, partnership working and growth. This is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for shaping and delivering the organisation’s strategic direction, strengthening the sustainability and influence of the local third sector, and ensuring VASLan continues to play a leading role in shaping policy, investment and community outcomes across South Lanarkshire.
Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the CEO will provide strong, visible and values-led leadership across VASLan and the Third Sector, working closely with the Board, staff team, South Lanarkshire Council, Health and Social Care Partnership, NHS Lanarkshire and wider Community Planning Partners. They will ensure VASLan remains an independent, credible and influential voice for the third sector, while fostering a positive and inclusive organisational culture where people are supported, empowered and equipped to deliver meaningful impact.
A major priority for the incoming CEO will be building on VASLan’s evolving strategic partnerships and ensuring the third sector is recognised as an equal and essential partner in local decision-making. This includes progressing the new Third Sector Partnership Agreement with South Lanarkshire Council, supporting the implementation of the Third Sector Grant Policy and strengthening collaboration around key policy priorities and community outcomes.
Funding, investment and long-term sustainability will also be central to the role. VASLan manages significant funding on behalf of its partners, amounting to almost £1.5 million in the current year, while supporting collaborative bids, partnership investment and funding opportunities across the sector. The CEO will provide strategic oversight of these responsibilities, working with public sector partners, funders and philanthropic organisations to secure new investment, promote fair and sustainable funding and strengthen the capacity and resilience of local organisations.
To succeed in this role, you will be an experienced senior leader with a strong track record of strategic and organisational leadership, partnership development, financial management and people development. You will bring a clear understanding of the Scottish third sector and the challenges facing communities, including poverty, inequality and social exclusion. You will be confident operating at Board level, influencing senior stakeholders and building trusted relationships across the public, voluntary and community sectors.
This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious and purpose-driven leader to shape the future of South Lanarkshire’s third sector. With an established network of local organisations, evolving strategic partnerships and significant opportunities to influence investment and policy, the incoming CEO will have a unique opportunity to strengthen the voice of communities, unlock new opportunities for collaboration and help make South Lanarkshire the best place in Scotland in which to start, run and grow a third sector organisation

About us
The Scottish Recovery Consortium (SRC) is a national intermediary organisation dedicated to supporting the development, growth and sustainability of recovery in Scotland. We work at individual, community, organisational and policy levels, across communities and prisons, to make recovery visible, and champion lived experience as a driver of change. Through collaboration and co-production, SRC supports the creation and implementation of recovery-oriented systems of care and strategic system change, ensuring recovery is embedded in policy, practice and culture.
We offer a wide range of staff benefits, including flexible working, an Employee Assistance Programme, an excellent pension scheme and 25 days’ paid holiday plus nine public holidays per year.
We are a specialist law centre championing and protecting children’s rights across Scotland. Our vision is for ‘all children growing up in Scotland to have their rights respected, protected and fulfilled.’ We provide free, specialist legal advice on child law and children’s rights, helping children, young people, carers, and families access justice when their rights have been breached.
We do this through our advice line and community clinic in Govanhill. We also deliver specialist training to organisations and schools, building knowledge and capacity to better uphold children’s rights. Through the evidence and insights gathered from our legal work, we advocate for long-term, systemic change to improve outcomes for children across Scotland.
The Centre established a Community Clinic in Govanhill, which has been operating since October 2025. The Clinic provides free legal advice and support to people who need us most, helping to remove barriers to accessing justice and extending our reach into the community. Our community advice work responds to the significant barriers many children and families continue to face in accessing legal support, particularly within Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities, where a lack of access to legal aid can leave rights breaches unaddressed.
Through the Community Clinic, we also seek to become a trusted and valued part of the local community. By building strong relationships with schools, community organisations, statutory services and others involved in the care and support of children and young people, we aim to increase awareness of rights, improve access to advice, and ensure our work is informed by the experiences and needs of the communities we serve.
Purpose of the role
As a solicitor for the Scottish Child Law Centre, your primary role is to promote and further the rights of children and young people in Scotland, by giving legal advice to children and families at our Govanhill Community Clinic.
Please note this post is open to women only. This is a Genuine Occupational Requirement under the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9, Part 1.
SCLC require to recruit a solicitor for the Govanhill Community Clinic. The role is to provide legal information and advice face to face in our Govanhill clinic. The diversity of the local population and the variety of cultures in Govanhill includes some religions and cultures where women would not, or do not feel comfortable, attending a one-on-one meeting with a man. The main demographic of people who use our clinic are ethnic minority women. Engagement and feedback from community members and partner organisations highlighted the need and preference for women to provide solicitor services in the clinic.
Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 provides that in certain circumstances it is lawful for an employer to apply a requirement to have a particular protected characteristic where, having regard to the nature or context of the work; there is an occupational requirement, and the application of the requirement is a proportionate means of achieving a legitimate aim.
SCLC believe that, for reasons stated above, the requirement to have a solicitor who is a woman is a genuine occupational requirement. Being a woman is therefore essential to the post and there is a legitimate aim for applying the requirement to have a woman-only post. For the same reasons, and in particular the direct legal advice and services the post holder will perform, the requirement is proportionate.

The Service
Fife Carers' Self-Help Project
The Carers’ Self-Help Project provides support in Fife for carers of children, young people, and adults with autistic spectrum conditions or with additional support needs who struggle with their own mental health. The service welcomes carers who have a loved one with a diagnosis and those who are on the diagnosis pathway.
This service offers up to six, free, one-hour 1:1 coaching sessions, teaching self-care techniques to manage any current difficulties clients are experiencing. Group sessions are also available.
Supported self-help is a short-term process which uses materials and techniques tailored to client’s needs. We use an approach which considers how stress makes people feel, think, and behave, and cope with the associated physical symptoms. This approach is based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, or CBT.
The Job
The remit of this post is to provide stress support to parents, family members or any carer of an individual who has been diagnosed as or is pending a diagnosis of being on the autistic spectrum or with additional support needs using a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy based approach. This involves assisting people to access and use self help materials and signposting people to other relevant agencies when appropriate. You will need to develop and maintain respectful and empowering relationships with service users so that they feel valued and supported and in control of their own lives.
The post holder will work within our existing Self Help Team based at West Bridge Mill in Kirkcaldy, Fife. The post holder will be expected to meet with service users in various community sites throughout Fife and therefore flexibility to travel to these areas is essential.
About You
You are a compassionate and proactive individual with a strong understanding of the challenges faced by service users, particularly those who are excluded or marginalized. Your approach is person-centred, and you have a proven ability to build equal, respectful, and positive relationships with individuals and external agencies alike.
Empathy and active listening are central to how you support others, and you're sensitive and responsive to the emotional and social health needs of those you work with. You have experience working one-to-one, offering practical, tailored support, and you're familiar with self-help resources for carers of individuals with autism and additional support needs, with a clear commitment to promoting their use.
As a valued team member, you contribute actively to a supportive working environment. You are calm under pressure, able to problem-solve effectively during crises, and your communication skills are adaptable to a variety of situations.
Organised and reliable, you can collect data accurately and maintain detailed records. Your flexible and practical approach means you're ready to meet the changing needs of the role. A current driving licence and access to a roadworthy, reliable car allows you to support service users in a range of settings.

Let’s talk about you
We’re open to people joining us from a variety of backgrounds, whether you’re stepping into your first role after gaining a recent qualification or looking to build on experience in youth work, employability or a related field. What matters most is your ability to engage young people, understand their challenges, and support them to move forward with confidence.

Every child should have a loving home, food, warmth, the chance to grow and learn - the support to cope with life’s challenges. But too many children don’t. By bringing your passion and unique skills and experience, you’ll help us change that where it really matters.
We've been driven by love to take action for children for over 150 years, giving them the protection and practical help they need. A lot’s changed since 1869. But what children really need, hasn’t. So as long as children need us, we’ll be here.
Will you join us?
Be part of our movement for change. We are excited to announce that we are seeking a board of trustees to support Each and Every Child through the next step in its development as a new independent charitable organisation - Each and Every Child SCIO.
Over the past 6 years, Each and Every Child has supported individuals and organisations across Scotland to change how they communicate about care and care experience in order to challenge unhelpful assumptions, stereotypes and mindsets around care and care experience that can further stigma and discrimination. In partnership with FrameWorks UK, we have shared insights into how we can effectively shift public ways of thinking, countering unhelpful and stigmatising mindsets and building support for solutions.
This is our next step. As a new, independent charity we aim to support the use of in-depth framing research and robustly evidenced insights combined with our experience of building relationships, providing advice, facilitating conversations and mobilising action to extend this work to other social issues impacting people’s lives. We will also ensure that our work to shift narratives around care experience continues to strengthen and adapt to new challenges.
We are looking to appoint a hands-on, passionate and values-driven board of trustees to support the leadership of the initiative at this crucial transition. We are also looking to appoint a Chair of the Board, a Treasurer and a Secretary. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a movement of change and support an exciting and ambitious programme of work that looks to change the story on social inequalities, now and into the future.
We are keen to hear from people who can bring new perspectives and experiences, and who are motivated to drive real change to improve the lives of children, young people and families across Scotland. We welcome applications from people of all abilities and backgrounds. These are voluntary positions, with expenses reimbursed.
The knowledge/experience we are seeking for all roles include:
· Lived or living experience of the impact of stigma and inequality on you and/or your family
· Understanding of care experience, trauma and other complex social issues impacting on children, young people and families across Scotland
· Operational experience of supporting children, young people or families, for example in health, social care, education or in the third sector
· Leadership or management experience
· Understanding of narrative change work, including raising awareness of social issues through communications, public affairs or campaigning
· Experience of community development and engagement
· Experience within education or training (with a range of contexts)
You do not need to have experience in all of these areas to apply – we welcome applications from people who have the passion to learn, support and contribute.
The skills and qualities we are seeking include:
· Ability to work effectively as part of a team
· Ability to think strategically across the public and third sectors
· Approachable, open-minded and receptive to change
· Able to consistently attend meetings and make time to read papers in advance
