Bridges Project is a leading youth work charity that helps young people aged 12-25 in East Lothian and Midlothian overcome challenges and adapt to adulthood. Since 1984, we have helped young people develop their life skills, improve their educational attainment and move into employment or further education. We have a vacancy for Young Ambassadors Coordinator to be responsible for overseeing and supervising Bridges Project’s Young Ambassador Youth Participation programme.
The successful candidate will:
- Ensure young people feel safe and supported to take part in activities that aim to put them at the centre of power, voice and agency
- Formalise a youth participation programme of youth-led strategy, influencing and campaigning activities
- Design, develop and run a programme which empowers the group to have greater control over the decisions that shape their lives
This is a new and exciting position in which the successful candidate will take pride in empowering the Young Ambassadors to achieve wider impact for young people and make systematic and structural changes.
It is essential that candidates have a full, clean driving licence and constant use of a car. Membership of the PVG scheme will be an essential requirement of the post. A contributory company pension scheme is offered with a 10% employer contribution.

Job Role:
The overall aim of the project is to deliver a programme of services to target and support young people in the east end of Glasgow who are under-achieving by raising and recognising achievement and creating opportunities.
Working across the Fuse programmes you will ensure that each participant is matched to an award, has an individual development plan where appropriate accreditation folders are kept up to date with all evidence captured and support young people to overcome barriers to participation and learning.

Pathways Project Worker

The Pathways Project Worker will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive support to young people aged 11-25 and their families within the local community. As part of the Connect Pathways initiative, you will address the challenges posed by the rising cost of living through one-on-one mentoring, group sessions, and workshops focusing on financial literacy, mental health, and access to essential services.
This role offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of young people and their families by providing practical resources, immediate financial relief, and ongoing guidance to help them navigate their challenges.
LGBT+ Service Youth Development Worker
- Part time
- £34,476 – £36,449 pro-rata
- On site: Dalkeith. Travel throughout Midlothian, including operating from other venues, will be required.
- Closing 3rd February 2025
Special conditions:
- The contract will run until 30th of November 2027 (fixed term contract). Extension of the contract will be dependent on continuation funding.
- The post can involve regular evening working.
- Post holders must be able to travel across Midlothian.
Role
The postholder will be responsible for developing the service - this will include delivering weekly youth groups and planning activities alongside young people. The post will also provide one to one support for young people. We are looking for someone who has experience of supporting and working with young people in a non-judgmental and empathetic way. A good knowledge and understanding of the issues affecting LGBT+ young people is essential.
There is no specific qualification required; however, the post holder will be expected to be educated to degree level. This should be in a relevant field such as Health, Community Education, Social Work or Education, but significant equivalent experience will also be considered. The post holder will work within a multi-disciplinary service and work effectively with other agencies in partnership settings. This post may require regular evening working.
