Bridges Project is a leading youth work charity that helps young people aged 12-25 in East Lothian and Midlothian overcome challenges and adapt to adulthood. For nearly 40 years, we have helped young people develop their life skills, improve their educational attainment and move into employment or further education.

We have a vacancy for a GIRFEC Support Worker to provide bespoke, individually tailored support packages to 17 young people per year who have been identified as not engaging in or coping with mainstream school. The post holder will provide a mixture of one to one intervention and group learning to young people, including support in areas such as wellbeing, personal and emotional development and employability. The successful candidate will support young people to gain employability skills, life skills and accreditation; helping them in to work, apprenticeships, further education or vocational training. They will deliver the service as agreed with East Lothian Council, Inclusion and Wellbeing.

It is essential that candidates have a full, clean driving licence and constant use of a car. Membership of the PVG scheme will be an essential requirement of the post. The post is funded by East Lothian Council. A contributory company pension scheme is offered with a 10% employer contribution.

We have a vacancy for an Administrator (Finance) to not only be responsible for the day to day finance and administration functions here at Bridges Project but to also ensure the smooth running of a busy and vibrant office.

The post holder will have responsibility for ensuring that all routine office and finance functions are carried out along with more specialised tasks which are crucial to the functioning of the organisation. Working closely with the Finance and Administration Manager, the post holder will ensure that finance processes are accurate and that tasks are completed in line with targets and deadlines.

We have a vacancy for an Employability Support Worker 16 + to deliver an effective employability casework and group work service to young East Lothian residents aged 16-24 furthest away from the labour market and who face a particularly challenging combination of barriers to finding and making progress in work.

The post holder will support young people to gain employability skills, life skills and accreditation; helping them in to work, apprenticeships, further education or vocational training. The successful candidate will provide vocational/industry specific accreditation and training to groups of young people alongside individual support to address particular barriers. They will develop and deliver a programme which will provide young people with clear pathways to positive destinations and sustainable and fair work.

It is essential that candidates have a full, clean driving licence and constant use of a car. Membership of the PVG scheme will be an essential requirement of the post.
