An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Scottish Fisheries Museum. With the support of the Headley Trust, we are seeking to appoint a Fleet and Volunteer Co-ordinator to support our volunteering programmes and historic fishing boats.
Without our volunteers, we could not run our museum or operate our historic vessels. We want to develop volunteering throughout the Museum to ensure that existing skills are captured and passed on, to engage more young people, to make the way we operate across the organisation more diverse and inclusive, and to provide stimulating and meaningful experiences for our volunteers and our visitors.

In this pivotal role, you’ll be at the heart of our work, harnessing the transformative power of Learning for Sustainability and collaborating with our members and partners to shape Scotland’s sustainable future.
Based within the Moray House School of Education and Sport, University of Edinburgh, the successful candidate will join a vibrant, ambitious, collegiate team to lead the development and coordination of Learning for Sustainability Scotland programmes and support the development of core Learning for Sustainability Scotland business; in collaboration with the Learning for Sustainability Scotland’s Director, Dr Beth Christie; an elected Steering Group and Chair; Secretariat; key internal and external partners; and its members. The Development Manager will also have direct line management responsibilities for the Learning for Sustainability Scotland’s Project Manager, and responsibility for the work of both the Project Manager and the Finance Officer.

This Scottish Government funded programme will deliver inclusive voluntary throughcare services across Scotland for men, women and young people serving a short-term sentence or following a period on remand. A collaborative and relationship-based partnership model underpins delivery to support to achieve positive outcomes for people and wider communities. We are recruiting for a values-driven manager to help us deliver our goals across the Partnership. Your role will be to support co-ordination and delivery of the work of the partnership and support them to develop and improve the service. Working closely with the Head of Programme and governance teams, you will support the monitoring of the service across Scotland and help drive a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. You will support the partnership and spend time promoting the service to a range of stakeholders including Scottish Prison Service, judiciary and local services.

This involves liaising with a range of delivery partners such as placement providers, employability partners, education providers, and workplace literacy partners, while providing direct support and line management to a group of trainee participants. The role will also support the growth and development of this multi-award-winning traineeship programme.
With support from the Senior Development Officer, the role will also seek to establish multiple entry and employment pathways, in and out of the traineeship, and maintain excellent employment outcomes for participants.

Scottish Huntington’s Association Youth Service works with children and families aged 8-25 impacted by familial Huntington’s disease. To affect positive change for our families, we focus on a person-centred approach to managing Huntington’s disease including psychoeducation, information and advice, peer support and respite opportunities. The Specialist Youth Advisor role is pivotal and will provide a vital link in supporting young people in this region in line with the strategic aims of Scottish Huntington’s Association.
You will be responsible for your own caseload and will help plan and co-ordinate group work sessions, activity days, residentials and our summer camp.
Highly organised with a proven ability to build trusting relationships, you will help to empower children and young people to manage the complexities of living with Huntington’s disease and their own genetic risk. Experience of child and adolescent mental health difficulties, young carers’ issues and child protection is advantageous.
Previous experience or knowledge of Huntington’s disease is preferred but not required as full training and ongoing mentorship will be provided.
You will work from home with regular travel throughout Highland, Grampian and Moray. There will also be travel required for organisation-wide meetings.
This post will include out-of-hours and periodic weekend working.
