Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) is a Christian mission organisation using light aircraft to deliver help, hope and healing in over 25 countries. For more than 75 years, MAF aircraft have been overcoming inaccessible terrain transporting mission and development agency staff, delivering urgent aid and medical supplies to transform the lives of remote and isolated communities.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic communicator with experience of inspiring, leading and managing volunteers. You will help drive forward MAF’s reach, by cultivating strong relationships with churches and other community groups throughout Scotland to raise awareness of the work of MAF. The primary focus will be to expand MAF’s presence in Scotland, engage new audiences by fostering meaningful connections and partnerships with church leaders and delivering presentations in churches and other groups. Additionally, you will spearhead the MAF in the Community (Scotland) Volunteer Programme, aligning it with MAF UK’s strategic objectives and church engagement strategies to bolster prayer support, donated income, and recruitment to overseas roles, by growing, training and inspiring our volunteer base, to facilitate more opportunities to speak in churches and other community groups.
Proven experience in fundraising and managing volunteers is essential as is the ability to envision and inspire others thereby building trusting relationships. Organisational skills (including event management), and training others in biblical engagement is foundational.
The job will be based from our Scottish Office; Challenge House, 29 Canal Street, Glasgow, G4 0AD. The position is part time (minimum 22.5 hours per week). However, full time (36 hours per week) would be considered. Hours should be agreed with line manager according to the flexible working policy. The working hours for this role will vary as there will be evening/weekend work.
