Role

Leisure & Culture Dundee (L&CD) is an independent Scottish charity that delivers many of Dundee's leisure, sport, library, cultural and heritage services on behalf of the city. From leisure centres and wellbeing programmes to museums, libraries, events and cultural venues, our services make a positive difference to the lives of millions of residents and visitors every year.

Guided by our values of service excellence, collaboration, innovation and inclusion, we are committed to creating a healthier, more connected and vibrant Dundee. As we deliver our Corporate Strategy 2025-2029, we are seeking two new independent Trustees to help shape the next chapter of our journey.

As a Trustee, you will play an important strategic role in supporting the governance, sustainability and long-term success of Leisure & Culture Dundee.

Working alongside fellow Trustees, elected members and the Senior Management Team, you will help shape organisational strategy, oversee performance and financial stewardship, ensure effective risk management and provide constructive challenge to support sound decision-making.

This is an opportunity to contribute your expertise to an organisation that has a significant impact on communities across Dundee, while developing valuable Board-level experience within a supportive and collaborative environment.

The commitment averages circa one to two days per month and includes Board meetings, Committee participation, strategic planning activities and attendance at key organisational events. Appointments are for a six-year term commencing following the AGM in November 2026.

We are looking for people who are passionate about improving lives through leisure, sport, culture and learning, and who can bring fresh perspectives, strategic insight and strong professional judgement to our Board.

Previous Trustee experience is not essential. We welcome applications from individuals who can demonstrate leadership experience, sound decision-making skills and a commitment to good governance.

We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in:

  • Digital Leadership and Digital Transformation - experience using technology to improve services, accessibility, customer experience and organisational effectiveness.
  • Income Generation and Diversification - experience in commercial growth, fundraising, partnerships, business development or creating sustainable income streams.

If you're looking for an opportunity to contribute your skills to an organisation at the heart of Dundee's communities while helping shape its future direction, we'd love to hear from you.
