What is involved?

Then you might be what we are looking for, as a new voluntary Board Member of Manor Estates Housing Association (MEHA) and its subsidiary Manor Estates Associates Limited (MEAL). We are particularly interested to hear from people with skills, knowledge, or experience in:
- Accountancy (preferably a qualified accountant with experience of RSLs)
- Housing Management
- Asset Management
- Procurement
- ICT/Digital
- Community Engagement
- Third Sector experience
- Equality, diversity and inclusion
Our Boards are voluntary but we pay reasonable out of pocket expenses including transport and childcare costs. The MEHA Board meets eight times a year and the MEAL Board meets four times
We are particularly interested in ensuring that our Board is diverse and representative of the communities that we serve.
Previous board experience is beneficial but not essential as we offer an induction and training programme. We carry out annual reviews with all Board members to ensure we are offering appropriate levels of support and training.
You will have opportunities to attend external conferences and events.
About us
We own and manage over 1,000 social and 95 mid-market rent properties, as well as providing factoring services to 1,500 owners operating throughout Edinburgh.
We also have a small number of properties in Fife.

Shettleston is a community-based housing association, and a Scottish Charity, which has played a major role in the regeneration of the local area for 50 years.
Are you an experienced communications professional ready to make a real difference? We are looking to recruit a creative, organised and engaging Communications Officer to help shape how Shettleston Housing Group connects with tenants, customers, colleagues and the wider community.
Working with staff, Board Members, tenants, customers and partners, you will deliver high-quality communications across digital and written channels. You will build our social media presence, support the ongoing development of our website, lead on key publications and help ensure the Group responds quickly and effectively when communications issues arise.
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience of producing clear, engaging content for a range of audiences and channels.
- Bring strong writing, editing and digital communications skills, with an eye for accuracy and consistency.
- Be confident managing social media, website content, newsletters and other publications.
- Build effective relationships and work collaboratively with colleagues, tenants, customers and external partners.
- Be a proactive, organised problem-solver who can manage competing priorities and respond effectively when issues arise.

Make a real difference to people living with dementia and their families.
STAND is a Fife charity led by people with lived experience of dementia. We believe that life doesn’t stop with a diagnosis — people can continue to grow, connect and enjoy new experiences. Nine trustees currently sit on STAND's Board of Trustees and, as a peer-led charity, three (including the Chairperson) live with dementia, three are/were carers and three have professional backgrounds.
We are currently seeking the following new Trustees to share with us their experience, talents, and passions:

- Trustee (ideally with experience in fundraising, but experience in campaigning, marketing, HR, creative pursuits or digital technology would also be beneficial).
Insight or personal experience of dementia or caring responsibilities would be an advantage. The STAND team is friendly and supportive, and you will be working with the charity's Development Lead and Administration Officer alongside trustees, volunteers, staff and members of the charity.
The Board of Trustees currently convenes every six weeks (usually from 2.00pm – 3.30pm), with the AGM in the autumn. Office Bearers and senior staff meetings usually take place quarterly. Most meetings are held in Kirkcaldy and travel expenses are reimbursed up to 30 miles from Kirkcaldy. Rarely, an additional Extraordinary General Meeting of the Board may take place.
Between meetings, it will be necessary to work remotely.

Working Rite are a charity working with young people aged 15-25 to create positive choices for what comes next after school. We build connections with employers and create chances for young people to grow their skills and confidence in working environments. At Working Rite, our mission is to build trust-based relationships with young people, helping them become the best version of themselves. We are a charity dedicated to early intervention, deeper engagement, and sustained support, creating change that works and transforming young lives.
