We involve and empower people affected by dementia and host national forums for older people from ethnic minorities and the LGBTQ+ community to help address the inequalities they face.

We're looking for a passionate and talented Trusts, Foundations & Philanthropy Officer to join our Fundraising team.

In this key role, you'll secure funding from a diverse portfolio of charitable trusts, foundations, statutory and lottery funders, and mid to high value donors. You'll identify new funding opportunities, build strong relationships with supporters, develop compelling funding applications and reports, and help demonstrate the impact of our work across Scotland.

Working closely with colleagues throughout the Charity, you'll create persuasive cases for support and ensure funders and donors see the difference their contributions make. Your work will play a vital role in growing sustainable income, strengthening supporter relationships with professionalism and integrity, and helping Age Scotland deliver its ambitious plans for the future.

If you're an excellent communicator with strong relationship-building skills and experience of securing income through trusts, foundations or philanthropy, we'd love to hear from you.

The post will be Scotland-based, with a blend of office (Edinburgh-based) and home working. As a hybrid role the intention is that office-based and external facing work will constitute 40% of working time over each month. Getting the Right Support at the Right Time

Turning Point Scotland are working with Fife Council and other partners to achieve the following aim;

‘Ensure people in Cowdenbeath (and surrounding areas) at risk of or experiencing Homelessness, and people who need help to strengthen their housing stability get the right support, at the right time through a co-ordinated system response.’

We are developing an exciting approach of change. To co-ordinate the system, we have created a Whole System approach. The community navigators will be the people on the ground who will support us to work ‘upstream’ and provide the support identified to ensure people get the right support to address an issue they have, at the right time as early as possible.

The Whole System Approach and role will adapt as we learn what works best for the people that need support.

The role may require meetings across Fife and could evolve to providing a similar support in another area of Fife.

Standard working hours are 9am - 5pm Monday - Thursday, and 9am - 4.30pm Friday.

About the role

The role of Community Navigator will support early intervention and prevent a crisis. Our Community Navigator role will include:

• Supporting people in relation to housing, wellbeing and their wider social circumstances.
• Lead on setting up community drop in’s in Cowdenbeath and surrounding area, building relationships and connecting to established community hubs.
• Working with individuals to provide them with easy access to advice or low-level support. This may be one contact or several over a few weeks to help resolve an issue.
• Supporting people with more complex needs to access support within wider services in Fife, ensuring that we do not let go of someone until we are assured that another support service has taken on the Lead Professional role for the person.
• Supporting people to act in their own lives as well as directly providing support with a variety of issues including, accessing employability services, access and engage with mental health services, register with a doctor or mental health/alcohol or other drug services, linking in with welfare services, help registering child at school, etc.
• Building knowledge of local resources and developing a network of working relationships with local providers / services.
• Supporting the implementation of the steering group’s WSA Action plan and feeding in to the steering group to highlight what works well land not so well so that the WSA can learn and change the system. This will include being involved in Task and Finish groups as required, ensuring lived and living experience is heard and valued in the process.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Flexible to adapt their role to meet the needs of the test of change
• Curious by nature to understand why there are barriers to someone being supported and take action to address why these work or doesn’t work for the people we support
• Self-Motivated and has a ‘can do’ attitude to support people
• Kind, Calm and Compassionate when listening and responding to people.

A level of previous working experience in a community based or social care role is an advantage, but not necessary as full training will be provided to you.

About Us – Fife Support Service

The Fife Support Service operates a Whole System Approach team, where these posts will work, in addition to a Housing First Team. This is the start of an exciting journey as we develop the WSA.

We believe that we are not going to end Homelessness by focussing on service delivery alone. Ending, preventing, or responding effectively to homelessness demands input from housing but also from across the public service system – no one service, or approach is going to have all the answers. These inputs need to be coordinated and integrated, underpinned by effective communication and information sharing arrangements and overseen by a strategic structure that brings agencies together around a shared goal. We believe that whatever door someone opens, this is the right door (No Wrong Door Approach) and when this door is opened, they are met with a co-ordinated multi agency response.

LifeCare has a proud 85-year history of providing uplifting, positive and practical support for older people, and they’ve never been needed more. Their services are delivered to older people age 50+ who need care within the home, out and about in the community and from their registered day clubs. This includes people living with dementia, frail older people, those living with mobility problems, poor mental health, people experiencing isolation and loneliness, and dedicated unpaid carers.

Their vision is of a society where no older person is left alone or isolated. To achieve their vision they are looking for a Trusts and Grants Fundraiser who can ensure focus is given to their pipeline of opportunities, ensure an excellent funder experience, and ultimately deliver sustainable income.

The Trusts and Grants Fundraiser is a new role for LifeCare Edinburgh, it will be offered initially as a 12-month fixed term contract with the potential to extend or become a permanent position.

This role would suit someone who has experience of trusts and grants, either at an officer or fundraiser level, who can demonstrate experience of developing a trust and grants pipeline, creating compelling applications and directly delivering income success.

There is great flexibility available; the successful postholder can choose weekly hours between 21 – 28 hours, their working pattern across the week and how often they attend the LifeCare Centre (with a minimum requirement of once per month to remain connected to service delivery).

This is a brand new post, created through two-year funding from Macmillan Cancer Support. The Cancer CARE Worker will provide independent advocacy, decision-making support, and peer network development for people living with cancer and their unpaid carers across Fife.

CARE stands for Culture, Agency, Respect, and Equity. These four words describe what every person supported through this project should experience.

This is not a Carer Support Worker role. It sits at a higher level of autonomy and complexity, involving one-to-one clinical liaison, co-facilitation with NHS teams, professional training delivery, and leadership of a lived experience co-design process. It requires someone who can hold professional relationships with oncology teams in the morning and sit with a carer in crisis in the afternoon.

People living with cancer and their unpaid carers do not consistently experience meaningful involvement in treatment decisions. People report leaving appointments confused about what was decided. Clinicians report wanting to do better but lacking time and tools. People from culturally diverse communities, those supporting someone with dementia alongside cancer, and those facing poverty face the highest barriers.

Under the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016, carers have a legal right to be involved in decisions about the person they care for, to have their own needs assessed, and to receive support that allows them to participate fully. In practice, many carers do not experience these rights, and this project exists to close that gap.

This project will not replicate or compete with clinical services. It sits alongside them, filling the gap between what health services can offer and what people living with cancer and those who care for them actually need to feel confident and respected in their care.

A full driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle are essential for this role.
