Alzheimer Scotland is Scotland’s national dementia charity. Our aim is to make sure nobody faces dementia alone. We provide support and information to people with dementia, their carers and families, campaign for the rights of people affected by dementia and fund vital dementia research.

What you’ll do

This is an exciting leadership role with a clear purpose: to grow, develop and improve Alzheimer Scotland’s community fundraising and events activity across Scotland. You will play a key role in delivering the Fundraising & Engagement strategy by supporting more individuals, groups, volunteers, local organisations, colleagues and communities to fundraise effectively for Alzheimer Scotland.

As Community and Events Lead, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for Alzheimer Scotland’s community fundraising and events channels. You will translate organisational and Fundraising & Engagement objectives into clear plans, budgets, KPIs, workplans and delivery priorities, ensuring community fundraising and events activity is well planned, well supported and focused on meaningful results.

You will lead and develop a high-performing team, line managing two Events Officers and a Community Officer. You will ensure community fundraising, third-party events, and Alzheimer Scotland-led events are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with agreed objectives.

You will lead and grow community fundraising activity by individuals, groups, clubs, small businesses and community organisations. A key part of the role will be helping others to fundraise well: providing the tools, encouragement, expertise, stewardship and follow-up that enable supporters, volunteers, local teams and community groups to turn ideas and goodwill into successful fundraising activity.

You will lead the community and events aspects of national fundraising and engagement programmes, including Memory Walk, Tea & Blether and future initiatives. You will help increase community engagement, awareness and participation, while ensuring activity is delivered safely, consistently and with excellent supporter and volunteer stewardship.

Working closely with colleagues across Fundraising & Engagement, Communications and operational teams, you will support appropriate communications and promotional activity for Community & Events work, strengthen supporter journeys and help local service delivery teams identify and develop community fundraising opportunities in their areas.

You will oversee third-party events and associated supplier relationships, ensuring challenge events and externally organised opportunities are delivered safely, profitably and with excellent supporter stewardship. You will manage income and expenditure budgets, monitor performance and use data, insight and post-activity evaluation to improve effectiveness, supporter experience and return on investment.

This role combines strategic thinking with practical delivery.

What you’ll have

You will bring experience in one or more relevant fundraising channels, such as community fundraising, supporter-led fundraising, events or participation-based activity. More importantly, you will be able to demonstrate that you have led people or teams to deliver fundraising activity effectively, bringing sound judgement, a strong understanding of how fundraising works, and the knowledge of regulation, compliance and good practice needed to shape activity that is safe, appropriate and likely to succeed.

You will have experience of planning, delivering and evaluating community fundraising activity, events, campaigns or programmes, and be able to show how you have improved activity, strengthened participation and delivered measurable outcomes.

You will have demonstratable experience of enabling others to fundraise successfully, not just delivering activity yourself. You will be able to show how you have managed supporters, volunteers, colleagues, groups or local organisations to take ownership of fundraising activity, providing the guidance, resources, encouragement and follow-up needed to help them achieve good results.

You will be a strategic thinker who can turn organisational priorities into clear plans and practical actions. You will be confident leading teams, managing multiple workstreams and building productive relationships with colleagues, supporters, volunteers, suppliers, community groups and external partners.

You will have strong planning, analytical and commercial skills, with experience of working to budgets, targets, KPIs and delivery plans. You will be confident using data, insight and evaluation to improve activity, supporter engagement, volunteer participation and return on investment.

You will understand the importance of delivering fundraising activity safely and compliantly, with appropriate attention to fundraising regulation, relevant law, health and safety, data protection, financial controls, risk management and Alzheimer Scotland policies.

Most importantly, you will be motivated by helping people and communities support Alzheimer Scotland. You will bring energy, empathy, organisation and leadership to a role that strengthens community fundraising, events delivery, volunteer involvement and supporter engagement across Scotland.

Foundation Scotland is looking for an interim Grants Assessor to join us on a six month fixed term contract. In this role, you’ll review grant applications from charities and community organisations, explore the evidence behind each proposal and assess whether projects are well planned, financially sound and capable of creating meaningful impact.

You’ll balance careful analysis with clear communication, spend time examining budgets, governance and safeguarding information, speaking with applicants where further detail is needed, and producing concise assessment reports. Your evidence based recommendations will help ensure funding decisions are fair, consistent and focused on the needs of communities.

About the role

• Assessing grant applications consistently and proportionately, considering organisational strength, community need, project design and potential impact.
• Review budgets, governance, safeguarding and other due diligence information.
• Write clear assessment reports and make well-reasoned funding recommendations.
• Communicate professionally with applicants to clarify information and manage assessments to agreed timescales.

Are you a highly organised and detail-oriented individual looking to start or develop a career in fundraising? We are seeking a motivated Fundraising Administrator to join our team in Edinburgh. This is a fantastic opportunity to provide excellent administration skills and donor stewardship of a charity that brings the joy of live music to people in health and care settings across the UK.

The Role

As Fundraising Administrator, you’ll help keep our fundraising work running smoothly — supporting donor relationships, communications and day-to-day administration, while ensuring accurate records are maintained in Beacon CRM.

Main duties and responsibilities include:

• Fundraising and Communications Support: You'll oversee our annual Christmas card sales, support campaigns and appeals, and assist with social media, email communications, and donor thank yous. You'll organise our annual Thankathon, help prepare smaller trust applications with the Trust Fundraiser, and coordinate volunteers and ambassadors to support fundraising activities during busy periods.
• Administrative Support: You'll handle enquiries and support the team with meeting notes and communications to supporters, volunteers and musicians.
• Financial Processing: You'll support financial processing by banking donations, organising annual Gift Aid renewals and monthly claims, and helping ensure effective reporting.
• Database Management: You'll act as Beacon CRM super user, maintaining accurate records, managing donor relationships, updating payment details, and data cleansing.
• Office Duties: You'll support with office administration, post handling, donor communications, and ordering office supplies.

About You

We’re looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented individual who is keen to develop their career in fundraising or return to the sector after a career break. You’ll bring excellent communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively, and a proactive approach to strong supporter relationships.

This role requires regular in-person office working to support key administrative tasks, so we’re looking for someone who values being part of a collaborative team environment.

While not essential, experience maintaining a database or CRM system and having worked in the charity or not-for-profit sector before would be of benefit. Experience using Beacon CRM and knowledge of data protection and fundraising best practices, such as Gift Aid regulations, are also desirable. We will provide comprehensive training and support to help the successful candidate develop the necessary skills and knowledge in this area also.

About the Organisation

The charity seeks to give joy through live music through the provision of live music sessions for people receiving care or treatment in healthcare settings across the UK, including those who are vulnerable, those with dementia and in critical care.

Live music is created by individuals or small groups of skilled musicians who have been carefully selected through a process of audition. Sessions are tailored to the both the setting and the audience to ensure that they can reach and connect people, encourage communication and meaningful interactions and evoke emotions and memories to make people feel better.

The successful applicants will require a level 1 PVG check (Disclosure Scotland).

About the service

Our Fundraising Team raises the voluntary income that allows Cyrenians to prevent homelessness and support people towards more stable futures. That income comes from individual donors, community groups, schools and businesses across Scotland, many who have stood with us for years.

The team is small, busy and collaborative, and works closely with colleagues in the marketing & communications team, and across our services. Every relationship we look after well helps to support the mission of Cyrenians, to tackle the causes and consequences of homelessness.

About the role

The Fundraising Coordinator is the first person many of our supporters meet. You will hold the day to day tasks of supporter care and help grow our community fundraising, so that everyone who gives to Cyrenians feels thanked, informed and glad they did.

• Be the first point of contact for supporters, making sure enquiries are answered warmly and every gift is processed, recorded and acknowledged promptly.
• Look after an existing portfolio of fundraisers and help deliver a calendar of events, sponsored challenges and community talks.
• Keep our supporter records accurate and compliant, including Gift Aid declarations and consent, and support the team with reporting.

About you

We are looking for someone personable and highly organised, who takes care over the detail and enjoys being the friendly voice of an organisation.

• Excellent customer service and communication skills, in writing, on the phone and face to face.
• Well organised, confident with IT and databases, and able to manage a varied workload to deadlines.
• Experience of working in a busy fundraising environment, with experience working with a supporter database an advantage.
