Our vision is to be a positive force for change in the lives of young people. We aim to transform the lives of young people in Glasgow, by creating a nurturing and inspiring environment where they can connect and engage with the arts, allowing them to progress towards their own goals and aspirations. Through a range of weekly classes, bespoke workshops, projects and productions, we offer children and young people aged 0-25 the opportunity to unleash their creativity, build their confidence and expand their horizons through the arts. Everyone is welcome and everything is free.

The Role

Toonspeak Young People’s Theatre's Head of Operations is a pivotal leadership role at an exciting moment in our journey. As we look ahead to celebrating our 40th birthday in 2027, and build on the momentum of recent funding successes, this is a unique opportunity to help shape the next chapter of a bold, impactful, youth lead organisation based in the northeast of Glasgow.

As a member of the Senior Management Team, you will lead on finance, HR, compliance, and organisational systems, ensuring strong, sustainable foundations that enable our creative work to thrive. From managing budgets, audits, and governance to overseeing IT systems and line managing a staff team, this is a varied and influential role at the heart of the organisation.

Job Purpose

The Head of Operations operates as part of the Senior Management team within the company, along with the Income Generation Lead and the Head of Programme and Creative Development, line managed by the Chief Executive. This role is the finance, operational, and business lead in line with our strategy and vision and is responsible for the line management of the Operations team.

GNWCAB’s Board of Directors are looking for four new Directors to work alongside other board members to oversee and support our Chief Executive and our dynamic team of staff and volunteers. Later this year, we will be moving premises and we are seeking to expand our Board to support this process and our onward development. At this important point in our journey, we are seeking Directors who can bring different perspectives to help the Bureau achieve its plans for the future and provide the most relevant and accessible advice services possible.

The Board is currently made up of seven Directors, each offering a different skillset that can support the governance needs and development aims of the organisation. We welcome applications from anyone who feels passionate about our work, regardless of professional background.

The Board has identified an upcoming skills gap related to third sector fundraising and governance, and we hope to fill one of the four roles with someone who has experience of this kind. We would encourage applicants with this background to also consider joining our Finance, Risk, and Audit Committee (FRAC).

For the remaining three roles, we encourage candidates of all kinds, particularly those with strong knowledge of and connections to north west Glasgow. Most important to us is finding candidates who fit our values and our organisation. We are looking for people who are approachable, transparent, team players, positive influencers and who are willing to contribute to debate.

GNWCAB’s staff team, volunteers and clients come from a diverse range of backgrounds, and widening access and inclusion is central to our mission and our values. We want our Board to be representative of our local community and so would welcome approaches from people who live locally or have lived experience of issues facing our clients. We encourage applications from groups that are under-represented on charity boards, particularly people from Black, Asian, or other minority ethnic communities, as well as young and Disabled people.

We happily welcome applications from people who have not been senior volunteers or sat on a board before. GNWCAB is committed to the on-going development of our staff and volunteers and we provide opportunities for training and engagement across the organisation on a regular basis. As a new Director, you will be fully inducted and offered training tailored to your level of experience that would support your development in the role.

Geeza Break is a unique, well-established, community-based organisation committed to improving the health, wellbeing and care outcomes of local children, young people and their families. We provide regulated, registered social care services and community groups, providing families with both practical and emotional support, meaningful engagement and strong community connections. Everything we do is rooted in listening to and supporting children, young people and their families, safeguarding and advocating for them, providing quality, nurturing and inclusive respite care in the community and championing their rights and wellbeing.

We are now inviting applications from committed individuals to join our Board of Trustees. As a Trustee, you will provide strategic leadership and good governance in line with our mission and values, ensure legal and financial compliance, and help shape the long-term direction of the organisation. You may also act as an ambassador and champion for the organisation.

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. Lived experience of care service provision and/or the Northeast of Glasgow where the organisation is based and primarily delivers services and support, is valued, alongside skills or expertise in other areas such as governance, HR, fundraising, marketing and communications, community partnership working, social care delivery, safeguarding or risk management.

Previous board experience is not essential as a board induction programme will be provided with support from existing trustees, the Chief Executive and staff team, and we welcome informal discussions or a visit to our office to hear more about the role and its requirements prior to application.

The trustee role is an unpaid voluntary role, with reasonable expenses available and reimbursed in line with policy. Board meetings are currently held every six weeks on a Tuesday afternoon, with a finance and resource subgroup held the Thursday prior to the board meeting. Meetings can be attended online or in person to accommodate trustee’s diary availability and remove any barriers to participating.

SAY Women is looking for passionate, values-driven individuals to join our Board of Trustees and help guide the future of our organisation.

For over 30 years, SAY Women has supported young women affected by homelessness, sexual violence, trauma, and inequality. We provide safe accommodation, emotional support, advocacy, and opportunities for young women to build brighter futures.

As we continue to grow and develop our impact, we are seeking new Board Members who share our commitment to feminist values, social justice, and creating meaningful change for young women.

We Are Looking For People With:

We welcome applications from people with a wide range of professional and lived experience. In particular, we are interested in individuals with skills or experience in:

• Housing and homelessness
• Fundraising and income generation
• Health and social care
• Digital, data or cyber security
• Trauma-informed practice
• Equality, diversity and inclusion

We are also keen to improve the diversity and representation on our Board and strongly encourage applications from people with lived experience and from underrepresented communities.

What Does the Role Involve?

Board Members support the strategic direction, governance, and sustainability of SAY Women. Responsibilities include:

• Attending Board meetings (approximately 6 a year) – these take place in the evenings and happen both online and in person.
• Attending Sub Group meetings were required (approximately 4 a year)
• Attending SAY Women Training and Strategy Days (approximately 1 a year)
• Supporting good governance and decision-making
• Acting as an ambassador for SAY Women
• Contributing skills, expertise, and insight
• Supporting the organisation to achieve its strategic objectives

This is a voluntary role, but it is an opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young women across Glasgow and help us grow.
