Alcohol Focus Scotland (AFS) is Scotland’s national alcohol charity, committed to preventing and reducing harm to individuals, families, communities and Scotland as a whole.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking an experienced finance professional to provide comprehensive financial analysis, advice and support to the Chief Executive and Board, and to lead the finance and business team. As a key part of our Senior Management Team, you will have a varied and challenging role, enabling the delivery of AFS’s strategy. Your excellent financial planning, management and accounting skills will be vital in ensuring the continuing good governance of the organisation.

We are looking for a candidate with:

• Accountancy qualification (CA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or qualified by experience
• Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience
• Experience in supervising and managing staff
• Experience of communicating financial issues to different audiences

What we offer

Flexible and Hybrid Working

We offer flexi-time to give you more control over your working hours. We work a mixture of office and home-based days to meet the needs of the post and to accommodate the needs of the postholder.

Annual Leave

26 days paid annual leave, increasing after five years’ service. 10 days public holiday (incorporating closure between Christmas and New Year). An additional Celebration Day that may be taken at any time. Staff may purchase up to one week’s additional annual leave per holiday year.

Pension and Death in Service Insurance

4-6% matched employer pension contribution, rising to 7% after five years’ service. Death in Service insurance is calculated as two times salary.

Company Sick Pay

After completion of probation you can qualify for up to five months full pay then five months half pay, inclusive of SSP, in year one, increasing annually for five years.

Transport support

AFS is based in central Glasgow, close to transport hubs. We offer a Travel to Work loan to spread the cost of season tickets and access to the tax efficient benefits of the Cycle to Work scheme.

North Lanarkshire Disability Forum is seeking new volunteer Board Members to join our governing body. We are a community led organisation supporting and raising the voices of people living with a long term condition, disability and those affected by cancer including carers.

As a trustee, you’ll play a vital role in guiding our strategy, ensuring strong governance, and supporting the Management and staff team to deliver real and lasting impact.

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences — especially those who can bring diverse perspectives or lived experience relevant to our work. We’re particularly interested in candidates with skills in finance, law, fundraising, communications, or HR, but enthusiasm and commitment are just as important.

Changes East Lothian is looking for new Board members!

Are you interested in taking on a new challenge and helping those experiencing mental health issues in East Lothian?

In response to expanding the capacity of the Board and succession planning, Changes East Lothian is seeking up to five new trustees.

We anticipate that you can provide evidence of transferable skills, or experience of operating as a trustee or non-executive director.

Applications of those with experience of the following areas will be prioritised:

• Leadership in a relevant position
• Involvement in mental health, social care or the third sector
• People, HR, employment law and organisational culture;
• Business, finance or operations at an executive level.
• IT, digital, marketing, digital and comms

About Changes East Lothian

Changes was established in 1996 as a community health project and since then we have evolved and grown to the medium sized charity we are today. As we celebrate turning 30 this year, we have the opportunity to launch our new 5-year strategic plan 2026-2031and with it, reinvigorate our Board with new membership.

It has been an exciting time of change and progression for us over the last few years and we are ready to develop our systems and processes with further development opportunities and creative thinking in facing the challenges of succeeding in the third sector. Our Changes East Lothian mission is to provide everyone in East Lothian the opportunity to access a choice of activities, therapy, information, training and support that help enable positive mental health and wellbeing through individual autonomy, learning, reflection, empowerment, and connection.

Your Commitment

• 1 development day plus occasional events (AGM, annual conference, self management awards).

Term

• Up to 6 years (renewable)
• Nomination required by an ALLIANCE standard member organisation.

Board Directors will be elected by our membership at our AGM on 23 March 2026.

PVG Scheme membership is required for this post.

Board Directors are unpaid but reasonable travel and subsistence expenses will be paid.
