The Scottish Recovery Consortium (SRC) is seeking a collaborative, proactive and values-driven individual to join our Experiential Team as a MIST National Officer (Experiential Team).
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the implementation and ongoing development of the Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Standards, helping to improve access to treatment and related services and reduce drug-related deaths and harms in Scotland.
Working closely with SRC colleagues and in partnership with Public Health Scotland’s Medication Assisted Treatment Standards Implementation Support Team (MIST), you will play an important role in supporting the development of the experiential agenda. You will help ensure that the voices and experiences of people accessing services, family members inform quality improvement and service development across Scotland.
The role involves building strong relationships with a wide range of partners, including Alcohol and Drug Partnerships, NHS services, Health and Social Care Partnerships, third sector organisations, grassroots recovery communities, and people with lived and living experience.
We are looking for someone with excellent relationship-building skills, a strong commitment to a human rights-based approach, and the ability to work collaboratively across national and local structures to support learning, engagement and continuous improvement.

Recovery Development Work – Gambling Harms

Scottish Recovery Consortium (SRC) is looking for a proactive, self-motivated team player to be part of an exciting development in partnership with the Aberdeen City Health and Social Care Partnership (ACHSCP). ACHSCP and SRC were successful in a funding bid through the Gambling Levy Fund, and we now have the opportunity to create a post that will specifically develop a Gambling Harm Recovery Network (GHRN) across Aberdeen City. Scottish Recovery Consortium will host this post (initially for 1 year) with the potential to extend for another three years. SRC will have an integral role in the project, providing ongoing development work and specialist expertise.
The project aims to create a learning, adaptive, person centred system of support for gambling harms in Aberdeen City. It operationalises national recommendations, leverages local assets, embeds trauma informed and lived experience driven approaches, and builds a more coherent, equitable, and responsive system of care. Through this work, ACHSCP and SRC will reduce unmet need and move closer to the national vision for a public health-led, person-centred response to gambling harms.
As an employee of the Scottish Recovery Consortium (SRC), the post holder will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer, who has overall responsibility for the SRC element of this project. The successful post holder will have a unique opportunity to work directly with the Community and Prisons-based teams within SRC and, externally, with a range of partners across Aberdeen City, including ACHSCP.
The role involves designing, developing and delivering a local GHRN across Aberdeen City. The postholder will work alongside people with lived and living experience, communities, statutory services and the third sector to strengthen recovery-oriented, trauma-informed and rights-based responses to gambling harms.
This is a role in the north of Scotland, requiring travel across Aberdeen City. There is also an expectation that you will attend SRC monthly staff team meetings in our Glasgow office and any others relevant to organisational work and development. Your role will be to:
- Asset map the current gambling support across Aberdeen City
- Identify gaps in provision
- Lead the development, design, delivery and coordination of a local GHRN.

Projects Worker

Street Connect is a Christian organisation with a mission to offer hope and opportunity of recovery for people disadvantaged by addiction, homelessness, and poor mental health.
As a Projects Worker you can contribute to profound and lasting changes in the lives of highly vulnerable individuals. In 2024/25, we estimate we benefitted approximately 2,678 individuals across 17 projects (and a pilot), with 8,411 street outreach interventions and 4,665 footfalls in our cafés. 5 participants are currently resident in our supported accommodation. 34% of those we benefitted worked closely with us (904), of which: 26% went onto receive intensive one-to-one Key Work support (235 individuals); 34% took part in our community recovery groups (309 individuals); 7% of those receiving Key Work went to rehab, with the other 93% choosing community recovery. To date, approximately 70% of residents in our move-on flats have moved on to positive destinations, such as employment, further education and independent living.
The focal point of the role of Projects Worker will be in supporting church partners and volunteers. Our experience has shown us that working closely with partner churches to deliver support within communities is a successful way for people to access the support that they need. We currently have Street Connect partner churches and projects in Glasgow city centre, Royston, Clydebank, Paisley central, Paisley Kilnside, Greenock, Motherwell, Dunoon and Wishaw. As we continue our vital work in each of these areas our aim is to grow into new communities and allow as many people as possible to access the support they need.
In this role you will be part of the Street Connect team seeking to develop and deliver community recovery support through a range of different routes to both male and female service participants who have a background of complex needs such as addiction, homelessness, and mental health issues, who are now at different stages in their recovery journey. This will include both those in aftercare who are living independently and free from such issues and those at an earlier stage in their recovery.

As CEO, you will secure funding for the development and direction of services. You will develop and maintain strong networks within both funding sources and the wider sector. Maintaining meaningful connections with community members will be vital to ensuring the charity remains responsive and relevant to those it serves.
Reporting to the Board of Trustees through regular Board Meetings and fulfilling the role of Secretary of the Board, the CEO will provide strategic leadership and operational management for the charity, working closely with the Board to deliver our mission and ensure Recovery Scotland's sustainability and growth. You will lead a team of around 30 staff and volunteers, managing an annual budget of approximately £800k. Working with Accountants and Bookkeeper to prepare Monthly Management Accounts and providing annual Statutory Accounts and budget Forecasts.
As the visible leader of the organisation, you will inspire and motivate the team through your presence and engagement. You will be responsible for building strong team relationships, providing hands-on support when required, and will demonstrate the charity's values in everything you do. By leading from the front and showing the commitment and passion that drives Recovery Scotland forward, you will create a culture where everyone is motivated to deliver their best work.
Key Objectives of the CEO role:
- Provide strategic vision and leadership further developing and embedding the organisations strategy.
- Ensure that Recovery Scotland aligns with the Scottish Government’s strategic Plan ‘Preventing Harm, Promoting Recovery’ to reduce substance related harms including reducing deaths.
- Demonstrate financial acumen, budgetary management control, forecasting and fiscal control/balancing.
- Actively support Recovery Scotland in its drive to be an inclusive and safe environment that enables its attendees and staff to thrive and succeed.
- Provide Senior Leadership in identifying and maintaining funding and an interface at appropriate levels with our key Stakeholders and ADP’s.
- Ensure that the charitable purposes of the organisation are followed, that we adhere to the requirements and regulations of the Scottish Charity Regulator, and that Recovery Scotland delivers the benefit that our service users and key stakeholders require and deserve.
- Take overall responsibility for Recovery Scotland management, administration and fiscal responsibilities within the governance and accountability frameworks established by the Board of Trustees.
- Building and nurturing relationships with key funders, partners, and supporters will be essential to the role, securing funding and driving the organisation forward, ensuring it is sustainable and able to grow.

About the Role
As a Recovery Worker, you will support individuals from initial assessment right through to aftercare and ongoing recovery support.
You’ll hold a caseload and work closely with individuals to develop personalised recovery action plans, review progress, identify barriers, celebrate achievements and connect people into wider support where needed.
A key part of this role is the ability to confidently plan and deliver structured group work sessions. We are looking for someone who can engage individuals within group settings, encourage participation and create a safe, supportive and recovery-focused environment.
Our programme combines one-to-one support with structured group delivery, helping individuals develop coping strategies, recovery skills, confidence and longer-term stability through evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches.
You’ll build positive relationships with individuals and partner organisations to ensure people receive the wraparound support they need to move forward in recovery.
Essential Requirements
• Experience supporting individuals affected by problematic substance use
• Experience completing assessments, support planning and reviews
• Experience planning and delivering group-based interventions or recovery-focused sessions
• Confidence facilitating groups and engaging participants with varying support needs
• Knowledge of recovery approaches and psychosocial interventions
• Experience maintaining accurate case records and using IT systems
• Understanding of professional boundaries, confidentiality and safeguarding
• Ability to work collaboratively with statutory and third sector partners
Desirable Skills & Experience
• Experience delivering therapeutic or recovery-focused group work
• SVQ Level 3, HNC or equivalent qualification in Health & Social Care or related field
• Knowledge of local recovery pathways and services
• Full driving licence
