Space @ The Broomhouse Hub is a community anchor organisation supporting people and their families in South West Edinburgh, with some of our services stretching city wide.
Space delivers 22 projects, with around 60 staff and 100 volunteers. We deliver diverse services supporting young people, families, older people and carers amongst others.

The Role
Space is seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Manager to lead our Youth Befriending Team, a volunteer led service that provides befriending to children who have been impacted by addiction within their family.
Space Youth Befriending matches children aged 5-16yrs with a volunteer befriender. Through individualised weekly activity based meet-ups the befriender supports and encourages the young person to build confidence and self-esteem, improve social skills, and make friends.
The Project Manager will ensure quality, effectiveness, compliance, and efficiency of the service whilst holding the needs of the children at the forefront.
The Project Manager will be a key leader in the Space team, building positive working relationships with all staff and stakeholders.
They will collaborate with the Head of Service to continually plan, monitor, assess and develop projects within the befriending services.
They will also oversee the delivery of our Bookbug session which runs one morning per week.

The successful person for this role will:
Being a trained Child Protection Coordinator (level 4) is highly desirable; however training can be arranged.
Annual Leave: 32 days annual leave, increasing to 37 days in year two of employment, Pro Rata. This includes some set public holidays and closure over Christmas and New Year

Location: The Broomhouse Hub, EH11 3RH. Hybrid option once induction is completed (minimum 50% hours to be worked on-site)
PVG: This post requires membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme
Term: Post currently funded until July 2027, with hope to continue beyond
