Role

We are recruiting for a Contracts and Tendering Manager to join the senior management team and have responsibility for taking ownership of the development and end to end submission of tender opportunities and grant funding on behalf of Right There.

The post holder will also manage the associated contract management responsibility and timely reporting to funders whilst collaborating with the internal relationship manager. The Contracts and Tendering Manager will also line manager the Income Generation Officer.

We are Right There, a charity celebrating our 200th anniversary. We provide tailored support for people, at home and in the community. We are here for people who are living with the effects of homelessness, poverty, substance use or family breakdowns.

Last year we supported almost 4000 individuals, helping to prevent them from becoming homeless or separated from the people they love. Every person's story is unique, and everyone's route home is different - it doesn't matter what the situation is - we're not here to judge, only to help.

Main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Implement the Income Generation strategic plan toward meeting performance objectives
  • Support the Director of Income Diversification and Messaging with scoping, understanding and analysing funding /income pipeline portfolio opportunities in new and current geographical areas
  • Ensure that risk is appropriately evaluated and minimised in all business development propositions
  • Oversee the scoping & risk and presentation process, contributing to an increased level of bid opportunities and awards appropriate to Right There’s mission and vision
  • Responsible for scoping, preparing and submitting high-quality tenders, funding proposals and grants demonstrating the skills and value of Right There as an established service provider whilst supporting the development of new approaches towards programme delivery
  • Provide an excellent internal consultancy and support service to operational colleagues in the commissioning and procurement cycles
  • Coordinate, manage and present all contract reporting requirements, highlighting and encouraging good practice
  • Manage line report(s) fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture to ensure high-performance and innovation in all areas and the highest level of delivery at all times

What we expect from you

We’re looking for someone that has a demonstrable track record of developing and submitting tenders and grant applications or public tender responses, coupled with experience of bid management from identifying opportunities to successful completion/submission. You will also be highly literate with experience gained undertaking a role that involves analysis or research.

What you can expect from us

  • The post holder will report to the Director of Income Diversification and Messaging
  • Your normal working hours are 35 per week, worked Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 6pm, depending on the needs of the service, with 1-hour unpaid break.
  • Your core place of work will be 15 Dava Street, Glasgow, G51 2JA.
  • Home working is available, it is expected that this role be will office-based c 3 days per week
  • Annual leave entitlement of 210 hours holiday (equivalent to 6 weeks) pro rata per year in the first year rising to 280 hours (equivalent to 8 weeks) pro rata per year in the second. This includes public holidays
  • You will be automatically enrolled into the People’s Pension in the month that you will complete 3 months of employment, provided you meet the auto-enrolment criteria
