We are looking to recruit an Energy Adviser with relevant knowledge and skills to deliver a reactive Energy Advice Service. The post is funded by the Energy Industry Voluntary Redress Scheme until 31st May 2026. The service will be managed by Southside Housing Association and will be available to 3 other Housing Associations in the Southside of Glasgow: New Gorbals, Cathcart & District, Craigdale Housing Association and to the Glasgow Care & Repair service.

The successful candidate will assist vulnerable and excluded households and facilitate access to this and other fuel support services for those currently underrepresented. They will assist to reduce fuel poverty, fuel debt, promote digital and financial inclusion, and financial resilience. They will educate clients to understand the most efficient way to use heating systems and identify other energy efficiency measures. They will work closely with the existing Welfare Rights and Money Advice Service and with other community support services, ensuring a holistic person-centred approach.

In today’s environment, the ability to work in a changing environment with competing pressures is necessary and the successful candidate will be a team player with a “can do” attitude and the desire to learn new things while ensuring that our customers receive the best possible service.

A competence in using IT packages will be required.

The successful candidate will hold a valid driver’s licence and should have access to a vehicle for work use.

The role

About you

The successful candidate will have led on producing newsletters and other publicity material and involvement in arranging events along with experience of producing photography and video materials

You will have strong numeracy and literacy skills, with the ability to write clearly and concisely for a range of audiences combined with being computer literate with demonstrable experience of Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel.

Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop effective relationships with colleagues and external organisations, excellent organisational and time management skills combined with having a customer focused approach to service delivery and being self-motivated and able to work on own initiative are also essential.

• Lead and contribute towards the delivery of our national service through managing and coordinating our Helpline, ensuring it is always adequately staffed, supervised, and operating to the highest standards of care and confidentiality.

• Ensure families impacted by imprisonment have access to a range of support and information.
