Better Lives Partnership exists to help young people with additional support needs find their place in the world.
Since 2016 we have supported in the region of 100 young people offering accredited training in work-related skills helping them find fulfilment as contributors to the greater good in a wide range of salaried and voluntary roles.

The Board is looking for a dynamic and innovative person to develop the organisation across all its sites. The person will be a good leader with an effective interpersonal style. Governance experience in a charitable setting is important. The person will be a good communicator with a high level of people management skills. They will be highly motivated, able to prioritise and manage their workload within the time available. Access to a car is essential since the position will cover wide areas of rural Dumfries and Galloway.
Purpose of the Role
Reporting to the Board of Trustees and accountable for the full range of senior management responsibilities within a SCIO, your success will be measured on your ability to achieve:

Reporting to our Director of Delivery, you will be responsible for strategically growing Cornerstone's income in line with our charitable aims, values and strategic direction.
Location
This role can be based in any of our main offices (Aberdeen, Dundee or Glasgow), or part of our hybrid working model. If opting for hybrid, we would need you to live within a reasonable commute of Aberdeen, Dundee or Glasgow. There will be occasions that we'll need you to travel to other Cornerstone branch locations (travel expenses would be reimbursed as set out in Cornerstone’s expense policy with travel reimbursed by HMRC legislation).
The Role
As part of our wider leadership team, you'll provide expertise and support to our Branch Leaders to ensure the development and delivery of measurable business growth targets.
You’ll take the lead on developing relationships with commissioners and partners ensuring that we have a solid understanding of the long-term strategic landscape in social care and that we develop practice to meet the emerging needs of people with learning disabilities, autism and complex care needs.
You will oversee our:
- Contracts & Commissioning Team - ensuring that we meet our contractual obligations and tender effectively for new and existing contracts
- Practice Development Team - ensuring that we continually develop our practice (including our Positive Behaviour Support approach) to provide expert care and support that meets current and future demand.

TIS is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to fill the role of Tenant Participation and Engagement Manager within its core team. The successful candidate will support the Chief Executive and wider team to champion and promote TIS as experts in housing, community development, and engagement practices.
The Tenant Participation and Engagement Manager will work to secure and manage new consultancy projects and deliver independent tenant advice contracts and training courses for tenants, housing organisation staff, Elected members, and Board members at a national and local level across Scotland. They will possess excellent group facilitation skills, and verbal and written communication.
The right candidate will have knowledge of social housing sector policy, legislation, and/or regulatory framework.
The role of Tenant Participation and Engagement Manager includes (but not limited to) -
- Respond to and complete tender proposals for Independent Tenant Advice contracts, consultancy projects, and the delivery of training courses across Scotland.
- Design and deliver training courses and workshops for tenant, resident and community groups, scrutiny panels, federations, housing organisation staff, Elected members, and Board members.
- Secure and manage new consultancy projects.
- Assist in the delivery of work commissioned by the Scottish Government.
- Work with key partners including the Scottish Government, Scottish Housing Regulator, Scottish Federation of Housing Associations, and Chartered Institute of Housing to influence and shape national housing policy.
- Design and deliver presentations at national conferences, events, working groups, and panels.
- Produce guides, briefing papers, and reports focused on housing policy and legislation.
- Champion and promote meaningful tenant participation, engagement and scrutiny practices with tenants and housing organisations throughout Scotland.
- Support tenants to respond to national consultation, have their say, and influence policy development.
- Provide information to tenants and housing organisations on the functioning of tenant groups.
- Manage TIS Development Support projects, including the responsibility of line management support and supervision to project staff, and the development, implementation, and review of workplans.
