Greener Kirkcaldy is a community-led charity working locally to bring people together, take positive action on the climate emergency and support people through fuel poverty and food insecurity. We deliver a range of projects, events and skills training to achieve the needs and goals of local people – building resilience as a community and working towards a future where everyone can live better and tread more lightly on our planet.

Based in the heart of Kirkcaldy – with a community building, training kitchen, bike shop and garden – we carry out activities across Kirkcaldy and work with partners to deliver projects across Fife.

The role

We are looking for the right person to join us as a permanent, full-time Administrator.

You will be the first point of contact for visitors to our community building. You'll be responsible for making people feel welcome and engaged. Reporting to our Office Manager, you will have a key role in our Core Team and supporting other teams in the organisation.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly-organised person who can grow into the role. You don’t need to be an expert in climate change or have significant experience of administration. We will provide the training you need and a great team to support you.

Are you looking for a role where you can really make a difference? Changeworks, Scotland’s leading environmental charity, is looking for a Project Manager to join our dedicated team. Our goal is to improve the energy efficiency of homes for householders across Scotland, we deliver schemes to install various insulation and renewable technology measures in people’s homes. Helping them feel warmer, and lower their carbon impact.

We are looking for a dynamic Project Manager who can lead clients and contractors to meet their goals within ambitious deadlines. You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to build common approaches, effective working practices and ensuring everyone understands what is required. You’ll have your eye on the day-to-day details while ensuring you horizon scan for emerging issues and work with colleagues to create solutions. You will have a natural approach to fostering working relationships and the ability to effectively challenge to keep progress at the forefront. Collaborative working is key and engaging colleagues to work with you is our core approach.

This role will focus on projects being delivered in the North East of Scotland including Moray. Your nearest office will be in Inverness, the team are encouraged/required to meet with colleagues in-person regularly and will need to visit project sites throughout the North East. We also offer flexible working arrangements that support your life outside work.

Ideally you’ll have experience of working in retrofit, renewables or with local authorities or registered social landlords (RSLs). Most importantly we are looking with someone with the right project management skills, experience and approach. We can support you to grow your knowledge of the sector if you bring the enthusiasm and curiosity.

The Climate Emergency has resulted in ambitious national targets to reduce carbon emissions from the built environment and reduce rates of fuel poverty. What you’ll do:

• Organise and deliver community events across five key areas in Scotland.
• Engage with local authorities, transport operators, and the public to promote bus travel.
• Coordinate event logistics, including securing venues, managing volunteers, and conducting surveys.
• Develop communications materials to share the positive impact of bus priority.
• Gather data on how bus priority affects the passenger experience, contributing to wider advocacy efforts.

Growing and connection with nature has central to our work since the beginning. Our community training garden at Ravenscraig Walled Garden is a vibrant space. It offers courses, training and volunteer opportunities in gardening and growing. It also includes a community orchard, with over 100 fruit trees and a ‘wild area’ that is set aside for nature.

As lead partner of Climate Action Fife, we work with others to help people to garden in climate-friendly ways. We've helped people to plant fruit trees and we recently created a demonstration climate-friendly garden at our community building garden in Kirkcaldy town centre. We are always looking for new opportunities to help local people connect with nature on their doorstep.

The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual to lead and develop our growing, nature and outdoor projects work.

As part of our Community Engagement Team, you will work with staff, volunteers and partners. You will develop and deliver a diverse range of events, training and volunteer opportunities around growing and nature.

You will play a key role developing new projects and activities, including grant-funded and income generating ideas. You will lead a small team of volunteers to maintain and develop our community gardens and coordinate day-to-day activities. For some volunteers, this is a pathway towards employment. For others, it is an opportunity for social interaction or to give back to the community.

You don't need to be an expert in climate change, growing or biodiversity. We will provide training and you will be supported by a great team.
