The successful candidate who will be working in a team and will be responsible for delivering a service within a hospital setting.
The service will provide additional specialist support for engaging with individuals at risk of or presenting as homeless. The service will provide an assertive response to homelessness and crisis that may put a service users tenancy or safety at risk.
The aim of the service is to reduce homelessness presentations due to unmet needs of individuals with problematic substance misuse. To support and address issues pivotal in causing homelessness i.e. support access to mental health services, support for alcohol use and engaging with drug services etc.
The Dedicated Addictions Worker will also provide external training, giving an overview of the complexities of working with people with addictions, to local authority Housing Officers as well as non-housing staff and services.
The successful candidate will have experience of working within a caring environment, as well as within the addictions and housing sector. They will hold a relevant qualification in respect of this and can present and deliver training on Alcohol and other substances. They will have excellent organisation, communication and I.T. skills, and can demonstrate the ability to work on their own initiative.
