Role

Safe Space supports survivors of childhood sexual abuse through one-to-one counselling, group-work, a young peoples’ service and an outreach service.

Due to funding from the Bank of Scotland Empower Fund we have the opportunity to restart our Young People’s Service and we are looking for a range of qualified and experienced counsellors in the field of trauma and childhood sexual abuse with experience of working with young people. In addition to Young People’s posts, we are looking for an Adult Counsellor to work in our Outreach service.

We are a small innovative charity working with people who have experienced trauma as a result of childhood sexual abuse and who want help to change their lives for the better. We offer long term counselling and therapeutic groupwork and we are looking to recruit the following staff on 3-year fixed contracts. All candidates will have to do our in-house trauma training Pandora’s Box which takes place over 4 days at weekends- the dates for this are between the 31st August/1st and the 14th/15th September.

There may be occasional weekend and evening work involved for which time off in lieu will be granted as appropriate. The holiday entitlement will be 5.6 weeks pro rata plus 9 public holidays pro rata. There are staff meetings plus internal and external supervision
