Purpose: To promote Selkirk Regeneration’s project, Sustainable Selkirk, and deliver events within the local community.
Responsible to:Project Coordinator
Sustainable Selkirk
Sustainable Selkirk is a community-led project delivered by Selkirk Regeneration and funded by the National Lottery Community Fund. Sustainable Selkirk aims to bring the Selkirk community together to take action towards climate change. The project has three broad outcomes; to reduce domestic greenhouse gas emissions, promote sustainable travel and increase awareness of the climate crisis. We’re looking for someone who is motivated and passionate about community-level climate action to help achieve our project objectives.
A healthy community is a happy community, and vice versa. Therefore, Sustainable Selkirk delivers projects that are focused on enhancing social well-being and promoting resilience to meet the needs of the local people, whilst encouraging longer-term practical and meaningful action in response to climate change. We deliver a range of activities including providing home energy advice, e-bike trials and skills training.
This is an exciting time to join Sustainable Selkirk. We plan to grow our team as we expand our activities to meet the needs of our community and tackle the inextricably linked issues of climate change and the cost-of-living crisis. We are working to make Selkirk and the surrounding area a greener, fairer and climate-ready community.
