Role

Scotland’s Towns Partnership (STP) is seeking new Board directors to help to maintain the organisation’s track record of sound strategic, operational and financial management.

This is an exciting and prestigious position that requires interest in the future of Scotland’s towns and places. We are looking for committed people who wish to build on the organisation’s success in developing its membership and strategic partnerships, and supporting the focus for the future of towns.

For over twelve years, STP has developed a trusted reputation for our role as a hub for:

  • Relevant news & resources, knowledge and good practice;
  • Supporting learning and community through our events;
  • Influencing and sharing policies that impact towns;
  • Raising the profile of Scottish towns — for example through our Scotland Loves Local campaign which encourages all those who live in Scotland to think local first and support their high streets and local businesses.
  • Fostering the development and continued success of Improvement Districts across Scotland.

We are looking to strengthen the Board of Directors and wish to attract members with a wide range of skills, knowledge and expertise that reflect the holistic nature of towns, combined with skills required for good management of the organisation. We would particularly welcome applicants with a background in finance or HR and/or from sectors such as investments, health and wellbeing, digital, and the private sector.

This is an unremunerated voluntary role. Directors are subject to re-election every three years.
