About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Policy and Communications team in Scotland. Supporting the National Cycle Network Development team to promote Sustrans Scotland's main walking and cycling routes and Networks.

As the Communications Officer, your prime responsibility will be promoting the National Cycle Network (NCN) in Scotland to key individuals, partners and consumers through various media outlets, social media, Sustrans, website microsites, events and other marketing channels.

You will support the work of the Senior Communications Officer with all aspects of communication and promotion of the NCN and other strategic routes in Scotland to core target audiences as defined by the National Development Team and NCN Scotland communication strategy.

You will build relationships with internal and external partners, communicating our messages with a key focus on our Paths for Everyone vision.

This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.

About you

You should have experience working in a communications and marketing environment. And experience writing and or editing content for publications, press releases, leaflets, and websites. You will also have experience in using content management systems and social media platforms in a professional environment, along with experience in ensuring all communications are aligned with the organisation's brand identity and key messages.

We ask you to demonstrate your knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and content management software. And knowledge and a good understanding of the communications environment, including press, media, digital marketing channels and print.
