About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Policy and Communications team in Scotland. Supporting the National Cycle Network Development team to promote Sustrans Scotland's main walking and cycling routes and Networks.
As the Communications Officer, your prime responsibility will be promoting the National Cycle Network (NCN) in Scotland to key individuals, partners and consumers through various media outlets, social media, Sustrans, website microsites, events and other marketing channels.
You will support the work of the Senior Communications Officer with all aspects of communication and promotion of the NCN and other strategic routes in Scotland to core target audiences as defined by the National Development Team and NCN Scotland communication strategy.
You will build relationships with internal and external partners, communicating our messages with a key focus on our Paths for Everyone vision.
This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.
About you
You should have experience working in a communications and marketing environment. And experience writing and or editing content for publications, press releases, leaflets, and websites. You will also have experience in using content management systems and social media platforms in a professional environment, along with experience in ensuring all communications are aligned with the organisation's brand identity and key messages.
We ask you to demonstrate your knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and content management software. And knowledge and a good understanding of the communications environment, including press, media, digital marketing channels and print.

Getting Better Together Ltd (GBT) is a community centred health initiative which was established in 2000 with the aim of promoting the health & wellbeing of residents living in North Lanarkshire including the Fortissat Ward, Shotts, Springhill, Dykehead, Stane, Torbothie, Harthill, Eastfield, Salsburgh, Allanton/Hartwood.At the heart of Shotts, GBT's Healthy Living Centre was established twenty-three years ago.
Since its creation 2000, GBT has become a leader in the arena of community led health improvement with a record of success delivering high quality, effective community-led health improvement services. It is a successful, respected organisation widely recognised by statutory, voluntary sector partners and the individuals we work with.
Over the last 23 years, Getting Better Together has witnessed the sort of transformations normally reserved for feel good films. At GBT, sports, exercise, healthy eating, and other community participatory activities aren’t just about improving health, they’re turning people’s lives around, transforming stereotypes and giving our community opportunities they were previously excluded from.

We now have vacancy for a full time (35 Hrs) Cycle Development Officer. The main aim of the role is to oversee and develop the Trackside Bikes at GBT. This programme includes a range of cycling services within our Trackside Bike shop including bike repairs, services, loans, and educational offerings.
Acting as an ambassador for cycling and active travel in North Lanarkshire you will work closely with the staff team, GBT, key local stakeholders and the wider community to promote the benefits of cycling.

Getting the Right Support at the Right Time
Turning Point Scotland are working with Fife Council and other partners to achieve the following aim;
‘Ensure people in Cowdenbeath (and surrounding areas) at risk of or experiencing Homelessness, and people who need help to strengthen their housing stability get the right support, at the right time through a co-ordinated system response.’
We are developing an exciting approach of change. To co-ordinate the system, we have created a Whole System approach. The community navigators will be the people on the ground who will support us to work ‘upstream’ and provide the support identified to ensure people get the right support to address an issue they have, at the right time as early as possible.
The Whole System Approach and role will adapt as we learn what works best for the people that need support.
The role may require meetings across Fife and could evolve to providing a similar support in another area of Fife.
Standard working hours are 9am - 5pm Monday - Thursday, and 9am - 4.30pm Friday.
About the role
The role of Community Navigator will support early intervention and prevent a crisis. Our Community Navigator role will include:
• Supporting people in relation to housing, wellbeing and their wider social circumstances.
• Lead on setting up community drop in’s in Cowdenbeath and surrounding area, building relationships and connecting to established community hubs.
• Working with individuals to provide them with easy access to advice or low-level support. This may be one contact or several over a few weeks to help resolve an issue.
• Supporting people with more complex needs to access support within wider services in Fife, ensuring that we do not let go of someone until we are assured that another support service has taken on the Lead Professional role for the person.
• Supporting people to act in their own lives as well as directly providing support with a variety of issues including, accessing employability services, access and engage with mental health services, register with a doctor or mental health/alcohol or other drug services, linking in with welfare services, help registering child at school, etc.
• Building knowledge of local resources and developing a network of working relationships with local providers / services.
• Supporting the implementation of the steering group’s WSA Action plan and feeding in to the steering group to highlight what works well land not so well so that the WSA can learn and change the system. This will include being involved in Task and Finish groups as required, ensuring lived and living experience is heard and valued in the process.

• Curious by nature to understand why there are barriers to someone being supported and take action to address why these work or doesn’t work for the people we support

A level of previous working experience in a community based or social care role is an advantage, but not necessary as full training will be provided to you.

About Us – Fife Support Service
The Fife Support Service operates a Whole System Approach team, where these posts will work, in addition to a Housing First Team. This is the start of an exciting journey as we develop the WSA.
We believe that we are not going to end Homelessness by focussing on service delivery alone. Ending, preventing, or responding effectively to homelessness demands input from housing but also from across the public service system – no one service, or approach is going to have all the answers. These inputs need to be coordinated and integrated, underpinned by effective communication and information sharing arrangements and overseen by a strategic structure that brings agencies together around a shared goal. We believe that whatever door someone opens, this is the right door (No Wrong Door Approach) and when this door is opened, they are met with a co-ordinated multi agency response.

We are looking for a HR Coordinator to work as part of the HR team and wider support services to provide a professional and customer focussed HR operational service across the colleague lifecycle in line with Scottish Wildlife Trust’s policies, procedures and values.
You will provide first level HR advice to managers and staff on all aspects of HR Management, Employment Law and the Trust's policies and procedures.
You will also be responsible for preparing payroll instructions for our outsourced payroll provider as well as liaising with our pension provider.
Qualifications / Essential Criteria
- Partially completed or working towards a CIPD qualification
Essential Experience
- Proven experience of working in a busy office in an HR environment, where the following experience will have been gained:
- Managing payroll, pensions and calculating staff entitlements and benefits
- Managing computerised HR database and other office systems and using them to collate and analyse data
- Providing quality first-level HR advice and knowing when to escalate

This role will support and evaluate evidence-based initiatives which aim to improve brain health across the life course. This role provides the opportunity to contribute to the developing evidence base around dementia prevention. Additionally, the role will provide a strong research contribution to the overall work of Alzheimer Scotland with the post holder being a key resource for people with lived experience, colleagues and external stakeholders. The role will offer varied experiences including evidence reviews, data collection and analysis, dissemination of findings and partnership working with people with lived experience and networks.
