About the Role

Reporting to the Infrastructure Engineer, the postholder will assist and support the work of the Network, Systems and Endpoints section of the IT Department, in developing, building, maintaining and supporting the network infrastructure, the systems and the computer endpoints in use.

The postholder will provide excellent customer service by assisting users with their IT-related inquiries, by demonstrating patience and by maintaining a helpful and professional manner.

This 1st line technical support role involves incident and problem management through effective utilisation of the RCSEd Systems Helpdesk, leveraging knowledge and relationships within the team and with suppliers to resolve incidents and progress problems to resolution.

Experience/Qualifications/Key Skills

  • This is a superb opportunity for an individual who is confident, methodical, organised and conscientious.
  • Educated to a minimum level of HNC/HND in a relevant or related discipline, you will have 3 years experience in a similar role.
  • You will have excellent communication and team working skills. You will have the ability to prioritise your workload with minimum supervision.
  • Due to the nature of the role, occasional evening and weekend work may be necessary as well as overnight visits to our Birmingham office.
